Dias

You dont let Ruben walk out of the door; or Rodri; or Josko either for good measure, whatever is being offered.

Too much change at once to a squad and management aint good.

Rico, Nathan, John Stones, Bernie, Traff, Savinho (hopefully) & Reijnders (hopefully) will all likely be departing and that frankly is more than enough for one off season. A total rebuild isnt whats required here.

Fair point. Have they been linked with Real Madrid yet, or is that next week’s election sweetener?

I actually suspect those two may leave but as parts of deals to bring others here.
Contracts mean nothing these days. As always at City, if a player wants out and brings the right offer to the table, we’ll likely sell.

(Unless you’re called Bernardo)

Likely. I think that stands to an extent, in terms of creating harmony, but I also think it would take a colossal offer to get our non-periphery players.

We’ve spent the best part of two seasons assembling a squad, including giving time to players to help them settle and build strength, so I expect there to be very little change to the spine of the team.

Guess it’ll be up to Maresca ultimately.

I think when Stones and Ake leave and there are consequently less injuries across back 4, I could see 5 CBs being too much, and someone wanting out over worries about game time. Gvardiol and Dias getting links away. Might have a decision to make...

Seems odd since given our center back choices- he will likely never get a game. Unless we play 3 ATB...
He’ll get plenty of games. Also how many times have we seen club captains here not play every game - Kompany and Ferna immediately come to mind.

If he has a season under Maresca where he isn’t favoured then fair enough there’s a reason but he’ll be here next season.

This whole players are going to leave because Pep has is BS. Where are they going to go? Not like Pep has left for another club. Every team in the world is now Pepless and not like we aren’t winners in the best league that pay incredibly well.

Some fucking idiots annd lazy journalism out there for sure. But goes to show that journalism isn’t what it used to be, any muppet with a social media account can promote this.

I would be surprised if this were true, but it will be competitive in our back line, especially if Reis returns: Gvardiol, Khusanov, Reis, Dias, Gvardiol.
Perfect (assuming you mean Guehi) and needed, playing in four competitions. There's also some inherent flexibility in that group, capable of covering right and left back options.

Honestly, I see an argument for selling Dias. Position is pretty stacked, Khusanov potential. Plus we'd still have 4 top cb's if he left which without an injury prone stones feels like a lot for 2 spots.

Dias is older, but we could probably get a good fee from Madrid or Bayern or something.

No point being captain if your sat on the bench . Think he’s surplus to us now moving forward. Had a great standout season but last two have been underwhelming as to why we are thinking of letting him go .
Following that logic, we should be entertaining offers for Foden as well.

We won’t be.
