Been told tonight by Latics supporting mates that he's on the shortlist for the managers job at Oldham (player-manager role)

And the general feeling amongst them is that they want him to get the job

I might have to start wanting them to win a few games if this comes off !

In the nicest way intended, I hope he doesn't get it.

Managers are just people waiting to be hated when things go wrong!!

Dicky should take on a role in football behind the scenes - preferably at City, in some capacity.

Even though the actual time I'm typing this dictates otherwise, I'm typing this on the Sunday night...... Sunday 30th May

Any ideas of the significance of this day??

It's Dickov related!!

Yes, 11 years to the day since the legendary Play Off Final :) .

I would be absolutely gutted if he got it!!

I love Dickov & his legacy at City, but feckin hate Oldham with a passion & I can not imagine wanting Dickov to fail!!

Dickov might well make a half decent football manager ...... he's keen , has good football knowledge , and is quite an infectious character , a bit like that guy at Blackpool .... and he hasn't done too badly , has he?

I'd have him at City as a motivator, i.e. Carlsberg team talk man, by god he'd get 'em fired up, :D

Dickov ...without which we may not be where we are today. I was ashamed to be blue when sections of the crowd booed him whilst playing for Leicester. If you don't love Dickov then your either braindead or not blue.

He was booed for THAT celebration, which we later found out was aimed at Keegan, but City fans didn't know that at the time

Not quite as good as Bob or Gareth Taylor.

Keegan had the right idea, shame Pearce didn't.

Think it depends on the Jim Gannon situation, wether Stockport take him when out of admin.

jim gannon will not be back at stockport trust me. If the consortium who gets it should the manager will be tony hancock ex new mills manager.

Did u know gannon had a thing in his contract at county he took 5% off all transfer fees when players were sold!! No wonder they went under

Dickov was perfect for us at the time, a fighter with a heart the size of Maine Road.

Granted he was never the most talented of players, but he never stopped trying, and if you are a blue, that is all you should ask for.

(still think Pearce was wrong to bring him back though.)

Managers at that level should be entitled to a cut of players they sell.

Well i disagree! He gets paid to manage the team, the club own the players not the manager. No wonder he was getting rid of players on the cheap

He bought players like Pilkington from the North West Counties and sold him onto Huddersfield for big money, that wasn't Stockport who brought him on it was Gannon, he should get a cut of that fee IMO.
