Did Joachim Loew get it wrong ...

Thought Boateng played really well considering where he played, notice on a couple of occasions he slipped into centre back, i dont know whether this was just 'covering' or just instinct, can i just say what a player we have for such a modest price, gonna be awesome for us.

That guy that came on instead posed a much more agressive attacking threat - HE go t up the pitch more and game them an exra attacking efge

So Low got it right

Agreed. Marcel Jansen plays wingback or often left midfield for Hamburg. I felt they needed a more attacking threat down the flanks as Lahm has done effectivly. Also they could of pinpointed Sergio Ramos suspect positioning and defending as Spain were not going to drop a man back in to stop it,

It wasn't Boatengs best game in this World Cup , but it wasn't Germanys either ....... they appeared to be much more tired than the Spanish side , who dominated possession almost from the word go ...... i doubt they'd have bossed this game so easily had they met a couple of weeks back.

Sp personally i think even if Boateng had of remained on the pitch his team weren't playing well enough to have progressed in this game.

Germany realistically never looked like winning last night , even Schweinsteiger had a poor game ...... Spain had many more efforts at goal , but only the header made an true mark.

To be honest when Marcel Jansen came on we looked a lot more dangerous going forward, so that sub did pay off.

The sub that really baffled me was when he brought Gomez on - pretty much the German version of Heskey - and left Kiessling who scored over 20 goals in the League last season on the bench again.

I've got to agree with you ........ Kiessling might have been the better option at a time when Germany were desperate to score ..... Gomez appears to have his limitations , and hardly looks the liveliest of players.

However Germany didn't really appear to be 'themselves' last night , looked weary , and were struggling to even get into the game for the main part ...... until that header went in i was beginning to think their best chance of progressing to the final was thro' the penalties fiasco.
