Did Pantz do enough to warrant a final appearance (merged)

Re: Did Pantz do enough to warrant a final appearance

Did a fine job and produced some top saves.

Seriously, we can't have this discussion again. Should play in the final as he was rightly played today.

He sure did, the save at Mata's feet was immense. Class display IMO.

Don't think a lot of keepers would have got to that, Mata was shocked by his extendo-arms.

No not being Sarki at all I think he was very good today and has been throughout the cup run and it would be unfair to take it off him
Only kidding mate, but I'm sure a Jersey would look better on him.

Yes. Wigan are a weaker side compared to us. He hasn't had much to do in the FA cup and I don't expect him to be tested much against them either. I thought he was little shaky coming out to get balls after the early mistake on the corner that Kompany cleared off the line but none of them let to anything so no big deal.

Re: Did Pantz do enough to warrant a final appearance

He did good. There was no way he (or anyone) could have stopped that goal.

Maybe inexperience, but I did detect 2 instances of indecision where he stayed on the line instead of coming forward to get the ball. Could have caused problems if the Chelsea strikers had been quick enough to reach the long ball. But after that he started coming forward and had enough height advantage to hold on to the ball, Joe Hart would only have been able to punch the ball clear..

Pantilimon will be in the final cup match, no question. He has already passed the toughest game.

Re: Did Pantz do enough to warrant a final appearance

Of course he saved us on a number of occasions today. Would be cruel and totally unjustified to drop him for the final. Joe will get over it - he'll be involved in loads more like this in the future. I also think Pants has warranted 4-5 games a season in the Premier League to keep Hart on his toes. Would be really effective against teams like Stoke and West Ham I reckon. Well done Panty!
