Did we miss Gaz Baz in the middle? I'm finding it hard to judge really. Wigan hardly have the best midfield in the league and were down to 10 men for most of the 2nd half.

I personally missed him in the first half, because we we're shite in the middle of the park (and everywhere else bar Tevez). 2nd half was much better for De Jong and Paddy V, some of the chip passes from Paddy V were cracking, shame about the ones along the deck.

I think we didnt, but that's only because we were against Wigan.
He does need a rest though, he's played so many games this season.

Yes - Viera was lost - not fast or sharp enough and unable to keep up with the game - he was blowing after an hour.

Had Danny Mills been playing right back i still cant believe he would played as bad as Viera did tonight

I think we really missed Barry tonight, We got dominated in the middle of the park tonight, De Jong and Vieira were very deep so there was really nobody in the middle and we had nobody to win the second ball either, Barry will start on Saturday v Burnley and drop Vieira to the bench.

Yes, absolutely.

Vieira was awful, a few hollywood chips doesnt make up for the fact he could only pass to an Orange shirt, couldnt do the simple things, got muscled off the ball countless times and has the turning circle of a tank.

Barry gives us so much more. He can tackle, pick a pass, play it simple and buy a foul.

Yes we did.

Our midfield was second best at times. Even when they were in the game they were too deep, hence too far removed from the attacking four.

That was the problem first half. Vieira is past it. The sooner the manager realises this the better. De Jong, for all his ball winning ability, needs passers around him. Vieira does not complement him at all and that's why we laboured so much tonight.

Not at all, Vieira offers us more, breaks play up more looks for an incisive pass more. We look more balanced without Barry.

What we missed with Barry was offset by what Patrick gave us, Ok so some of his passing was short of dire but some of his touch and vision was class, the legs just aint there anymore, He is a good player to bring on for the last 20/30 mins when were leading just to put a calm influence on things, 90 mins is too much for Pat these days.

How many times can a poster contradict themselves in one post?

Fair play mate, you just took the record.

But you didn't really. Someone else did. Except they didn't really because you did. Well you would have done if they hadn;t have done.

No, you did really.

Not.

we scored 3 and kept a clean sheet, so I'd like to know in which areas you all think Barry would have improved this result?

Finding a blue shirt once in a while and not being run past like a traffic cone would of been two ways he would of contributed more to the overall team performance.

It was as painful as watching Dabo tonight.

In the fact that we were fucking awful until they went down to ten men.

That area.

Forget Danny Mills, Heather Mills would have played better than Viera tonight. Even without her false leg. So in that regard we really did miss Barry.

Maybe I should have paragraphed it a little better, the 1st part of the sentance was about Barry, then my love for Vieira took over, Please accept my apology Dave, just to make my life complete ..........

Best post in a long time, top draw Dave.

Vieira, "captain of France", fuck me, so off the pace it was untrue HOWEVER the ability to pick a pass which is why he was kept on.

To be honest i think it is fair to say that i am still not sure if NDJ was on the pitch?

at least pat looked bad because he was involved, i swear i didn't see nige touch the ball.....
