Did you ever pretend to be ill ?

I never got away with it. My mum would have sent me to school even if my leg was hanging on by a thread just to get a few hours of peace.

got quite hooked on Crown Court

That was on at dinner time and I used to go home for dinners from school then it was pebble mill so rarely went to school in the afternoon. Didn't bother pretending to be ill just didn't go

I still do. As a kid I did the radiator-induced 'fever' a few times. My mum was so gullible.

I did at junior school, Pipkins, Crown Court and Emmerdale era. After that, in senior school I took my leave when fancied, which became an increasing occurrence the the longer I was there.

I used to have the greatest ability to be able to go all white and faint whenever I felt like it. This usually occurred during assembly at school or at the match to get a free cup of Bovril off the St. Johns guys. I once was passed down over all the blokes heads in the Kippax to end up sitting on the side of the pitch with my free Bovril.
