Me and my sister had one when I was a kid.....One day just me, a labrador and our gerbil....in the garden. I let the gerbil out near the dog and he just got up to walk away, trod on it and killed the poor thing. I had to run a mercy mission before my sister found out. It did that one day, ran along the windowsill and as it had furry feet, didn't stop, it just slid on the gloss paint, kamikazied off and broke its neck
