I don't doubt Mendes is involved, but I doubt very much that's the reason we've chosen Costa above football reasons.especially as the interest seems to go back a while.

I’m not sure some fans appreciate how important Ederson is to our game.

You’d think we’d try and cash in on Ederson as only a year left and Saudi interest. Also means we buy a number 1 instead of promoting Ortega.

But Ortega is getting interest from Leverkusen who we are hoping to do business with. He’ll also want to push himself and be a 1 somewhere with the World Cup coming up, although I do think he appreciates his position at City.

Carson could easily sign another year, retire or even stay on as coach. I don’t think we’ll allocate this spot to say Brits because Carson does travel with the squad a lot and you’d want the young keeper to be playing as much for the EDS as possible. However said that we could easily allocate the spot to Brits and just fill the bench with other players especially if we are expanding the squad ever so slightly and then he only gets pulled away from youth games if a injury or suspension.

Yes thts a really interesting idea with Brits, if he didn't travel with thye squad unless needed to be drafted in. Carson could stay as a non squad player.

If Bayer want Oretga he will be off in my opinion, going home and becoming first choice would be too good an offer for him.

I think we are banking on Saudi buying a few from us this summer. Eddie looks like he’ll go there. AC are playing hard ball with the Walker fee but Saudi have been interested before, they wanted Bernie and Kov before as well.
