Diogo Costa

This.
We need a proper shot stopper, too many times 1 shot = goal happens with us. Last few windows are to blame for where we are now, the 200 million spent in January includes high fees for 2 players not yet considered 1st team players and if we get Costa I fear it’s going to be yet another poor buy.
Think we spent about £130m tops in January mate

He's a solid keeper having an off season. Plus with his passing he's probably the best suited to Pep ball. The question would be should we be making Pep signings if he's only here one more year or should we make next manager signings like we did whilst Pellegrini was in charge? As there's better overall keepers out there who just aren't as good at passing.. or penalty saving, 27% save rate... big step up from the 0% we're used to lol

I'm hoping this is agent talk, maybe his brilliant stops and penalty saves out way his bozzo moments
Seems like more of a proper link to be honest.

Not some ITK or journo that we haven’t heard of. Means we’ve certainly approached them/they’ve approached us.

But sure we are looking at others as well unless he’s clearly the only one we want.

So Pep has showed us that having a ball playing goalkeeper is the best way to win football matches.

Why would our next manager not also think the same?

Football has evolved. This is how it is now.

Only way if the passing is ederson level unless then it’s not worth it. In the end it’s a goalkeeper not passingkeeper

90% of the teams at the top level have this now. With few exceptions for excellent “old school” keepers.

Look how many bad teams concede or have multiple errors because they play this way without a good enough keeper or back line. Some hilarious clips out there.

Football has been revolutionised everywhere and Pep is the reason it’s universal now in my opinion. Total football etc. was always around before but no one would have expected teams in League 2 trying it. His influence is remarkable.

It's not an absolute must for any other manager other than Pep. Majority of managers still prefer goalkeeping first.

Why isn't the best passer ever been Brazils no1?

Emi Martinez shite passer..world cup winner

Courtois shite passer.. Multiple champions league and la liga winner in which his goalkeeping has been instrumental.

Donnarumma Euro winner and reason PSG are in the Semis.

Best keeper in the prem atm? Raya? 70% pass completion with long ball accuracy of 33%.

Honestly Pep is the only one that I know that cares that much. Even Enrique doesn’t care that much. Same with Emery and others who prefer a similar type of football

I think Alisson (as much as it pains me to say) is best keeper in prem but I agree with what you’re arguing. Also isn’t it about the quality on the ball of the defender and the 6 who take the ball from the keeper. Keeper’s passing is one thing, receiving the ball with a forward pressing you is the hard bit.

Is it worthwhile us putting a bid in for Matz Sels at Forest if Eddie leaves? Seems to be keeping a lot of clean sheets, though I don’t know how good his distribution is.

Donnarumma Please Spend Spend Spend
Yeah, that’s not going to happen. He’s on £211K per week—we’d have to offer at least £300K just to get him to even consider the move. And that’s assuming PSG are willing to sell and he actually wants to leave. Even then, PSG might just throw even more money at him to keep him."

At this point, I think City should send scouts to see if García is comfortable with his feet—or just ask him, because we can't really tell since Espanyol doesn't play out from the back. He’s by far the better keeper.

It's both.
Everton showed up Ortega so much on Saturday, his shotstopping, command of his area excellent but his distribution was appalling, the times we lost the ball from him launching it up the field was considerable and against a better team that would have cost us dear.
