Just watched an 8 minute compilation of him and he didn’t catch the ball once in the 8 minutes of highlights. Nearly every save of his ends up as a corner kick or back to the opponents feet.

Can't really play our tactics at all though if they're not good with their feet. We bait the press by having an extra passer at the back and risking the ball being lost, if we dont manage that the opposition will barely ever leave their own box.

Unfortunately I'm not sure there's a keeper we could get that'd be anywhere near Ederson's level at that. Would rather him than Costa.
 
tbf...whenever I've seen Costa play for Portugal over the yrs he's been mighty impressive in his shot stopping.

Although most posters on here seem to dismiss him when playing for Porto!

Porto has terrible financial problems and the squad is the worst In 20 years , things have gone awful this last year.

Also the manager is also terrible.
 
looked to have good reflexes in the highlights i saw today.
and for the ball playing GK argument, i think if the team is clicking we can live without the 1~2 assists expected per season from the GK.
i think passing the ball the the nearst defender is doable by every GK

Ederson's passing shouldn't be underestimated.
It's vital.

High press (I hate that phrase!) and he can chip a ball into midfield, to the full backs or bisect two strikers to find a teammate.
A team backs off and he can play it to a midfielder or a defender and receive it if they close down.

It's not about his assists it's the fact he's like an extra outfield player.

Porto usually buy cheapish and sell very well
 
funny. bit of a joke that. they'll be lucky to get half of that from anyone
 
If PSG gets him we should get Donnarumma because PSG is willing to let him go since he isn't happy there anymore.
