Diogo Jota & his brother Andre have died in a car crash

Just won the league, Nations League and married the love of his life. Was tremendous at Wolves and at Liverpool, well his success tells its own story. Always seemed like a good man, his 3 children and wife I don’t even know what to think. An awful, awful unthinkable thing to happen. Rest in peace, Diogo. Taken far far too early! Was actually only talking about him on Wednesday.

Just heard on the radio that their funerals are tomorrow. That’s quick, and whilst it may bring a bit more closure for the family, I can’t get my head around how 48 hours ago he was planning his drive back to England, and tomorrow he will be laid to rest. Absolutely unbearable to even begin to understand.

Their live update of the mourning is a bit much for me.

Appreciate people may feel differently and totally understand the grief, but live updates of upset people arriving and placing flowers? Seems a bit intrusive to me.
I was referring to a video tribute on the iPlayer - should have been more specific.

Maybe, but it’s a rare situation and not a unique reaction when a celebrity passes away. It may not be to everyone’s taste, but we have a choice whether we consume the reaction or not.

It’s understandable in the immediate aftermath due to the completely unique set of circumstances.

Yeah, possibly. I'm just not sure what people gain from getting text updates of that. I admit i might feel differently though if it was "one of ours", so maybe it helps those most upset somehow.

I’ve been reading the tributes from his fellow professionals, be it Liverpool maters or otherwise. I wouldn’t look at anything other than that though.

Saw some disgusting videos online with some Liverpool fans saying his death has truly affected them and then asking people to send them gifts on Tiktok as way to help them feel better. How do you use a situation like this to ask for money for yourself? It's not even like they were asking for money for the family of the deceased, they (the so called fans) were asking for money for themselves! How?
You'll always get opportunistic scum.

There's something not right about all those people at anfield taking pictures aswell. By all means go and lay a tribute if you feel the need to, even going there out of morbid curiosity just to look at them i can also understand but what are the pictures for? Why are you posing infront of a tribute? I can think of no reason to do that other than engagement farming on whatever platform they stick the photo on.

All of my sincere condolences are aimed at the people directly involved with the two lads, the inevitable overdrive from the scouse I can ignore because it was going to be obvious.

Very well put.

I have to say when I read the news yesterday about this tragic event, I had a real sense of sadness, more than many other ‘celebrity’ deaths.

RIP, young men.

Two people, normal people, were stabbed in picadilly gardens this week by you know who....Perspective is required, the mainstream media are c*nts!

Wolves and Porto fans respectfully grieving without Liverpool fans OTT ambulance chasing antics. I’ll Never forget some of their fans vile reactions to Tommy Caton’s passing, who was actually one of their own.
