Dipper Takeover? [Merged]

Liverpool will be a big rival for us in the fight for a top 4 place, they will not be as bad as they were last season.

Agreed. I think people will be surprised at how Liverpool will do this year. Thing is they were as bad as they could be last year. The only way is up for them and they've basically kept their best players including Mr Torres and added one or two decent players to the squad particularly Cole. We've still got it all to do.

had a look on a Liverpool forum and they're saying I'm ironic aha.

Clearly they never saw my rant that night.

They should not be dismissed takeover or non takeover. PB has answered my question earilier on about transfer funds. It could be Hicks and Gillette trying to make out that they are trying to sell the club and it is one big PR exercise but they still have a good set of players.

great username...rag..lol.

done some digging around regarding ol kenny, going of his most recent and high profile sporting deal ie the purchase of 15% stake in the cleveland cavaliers last seasons eastern conference league winners . reportedly he may have paid around 70 mil for the stake and he also lead a deal between the team and a chinese beer equivalent in brand terms of budweiser and this seems to be a major skill of his brokering sponsorship from chinse brands for the american sport team he has a stake in so no doubt would plan something similar for the dippers

.. his speciality in business terms seems to be the bridging of major sporting brands with the fledgling chinese sports market an as yet relatively untapped market. it does seem as mentioned before that rather than having a large personal wealth himself he does lead a consortium of very wealthy and influential investors including in previous sports deals adrien cheng whose family operate new world development a huge chinese conglomerate dealing in all kinds of markets, telecommunications, property etc so there is serious financial backing withing the group...

put simply i would guess as mentioned his plan rather than to immediately purchase new playing staff would be to use as well as the Liverpool Brand the current star names at the club, SG and FT to tap the chinese market in much the way he did with Lebron James while he was at cleveland cavs, to secure merch sales and brand sponsorship from china .. this i assume is why he is in a rush to do the deal before any star names leave or liverpool continue to flounder thus diminishing the liverpool brand name and its attractiveness to potential chinese investement .. its possible if he succeeds that liverpool could have more fans in china than in the uk . a lot of if's though

it's also the squad that finished 7th last season on 63 points a huge 23 points behind the winners.

That's because the manager wasn't getting anywhere near the best out of his squad, hence getting the sack. When he was getting the best out of them, they almost won the league. The point is that their squad is much better than people on here give credit for and with good management and a couple of additions they could challenge again no problems

6 bids seems a bit rich - mebs a ploy to keep torres make him think there'll be plenty of new signings....however I'd imagine if there were 6 interested parties last week, there must have been at least 4/5 last week - so why sign Luke Young!!

I'm just a master of disguise but a shit inflitraitor (spelling)

if their new owner starts to splash the cash it'll be interesting to see if the dipper fans accuse their own club of having no class, no history and ruining football. the stench of hypocrisy could be overwhelming.

Liverpool wont be as good as 2008/09, they lost Alonso to R.Madrid - they haven't replaced him so far. Also, Benayoun has left them for Chelsea.
Joe Cole is the kind of player we'd have signed 3 years ago - past his best and injury prone now.
If they manage to finish above us then Mancini is a shite manager.
