Direct debits!

I have direct debits going out tomorrow (Monday 31st) and i've forgot to put money in the bank...

What the hell do i do? I really can't afford the charges i'll incur if the moneys not in (more than one)

How long do i get to have the money in the bank?

ask a friend to internet bank you some money, im with natwest, and they only charge £5 for a direct debit charge.

Noone will be up and at a computer at this time..

Im at the top end if my overdraft so it will take me over and i'll get a 28 quid carge then a charge from my credit card aswell for that not bein paid!

nothing you can do, accept if this is a one off, you can phone the bank and explain, usually they are pretty leiniant.

cancel the dd's either through internet banking or by ringing your bank in the morning. Then ring the payee and explain that you will pay on your debit card on Tuesday.

Go in and see someone TODAY - they may be able to put an overdraft facility in place. If you can't get in ring them.

The worst, and often most expensive, thing people do is ignore the problem and hope it'll go away. It won't and you'd be surprised how these things escalate.

Why not get your s/o and d/d's transfered to a new account and pay in whatever it'll take to cover them as soon as you get paid.

That way if you have no money in your personal account you'll just be skint but at least all your bills will be paid and there'll be no nasty charges.

Take the hit this time, then re-set it as a Standing Order. You have more control over it and don't get DD charges in future.
