Strange things often happen when recruiting. Perhaps we have our preferred candidate ‘waiting’ whilst the club ticks all the fairness boxes (e.g. internal candidates) by advertising the role.

Getting the best person for the job has to be the priority for the club, so casting a net to all possible candidates is probably seen as the best way forward.

With a number of vacancies being advertised perhaps there has been a change of opinion amongst those in charge and a freshening up is seen as being necessary for the team to move forward.

Guess we will find out before too long.

We also would've probably sounded out any likely candidates for the postition last year before appointing Nielsen. I'd guess that this is taking the opportunity to gauge interest from those that weren't considered at that time.

Accepting applications from pretty much anyone doesnt give much confidence too. Would like to think we'd by headhunting the best we could get - we could still get good people this way, but feels a bit like doing it on the cheap.

Advertising the job is a prerequisite for ticking all the boxes re diversity and inclusion - ie no one is excluded from making an application. It doesn’t mean that we haven’t hired a specialist headhunter as well - I’d be amazed if we haven’t.

Applied, pretty sure I'll be the best candidate, anyone got any transfer targets for me, no wingers, I've identified the girl from Villa as my star signing.

I will also immediately rehire The Goat and promote him to manager.

The girl from Villa is going Juventus with her Other half Luiz as part of a joint deal I think
