Dirty Harry to bid £10 mil for Bellyache

Re: Dirty Harry to bid £10 mil for Bellyache

Bellers won me over with his desire, pace ability and goals.. to let him go would be a complete mistake.. one Hughes will never make .. thats for sure.. if he wants to keep his job he needs to keep good players.. !!
So forgot that one lads.. he aint going nowhere..

Re: Dirty Harry to bid £10 mil for Bellyache

I was very critical of signing Bellamy however watching the guy, his committement and desire to win, his work rate and even his abilities I have changed my mind. Good player, good signing for us. Keep him around the place. It could be that if we do sign Eto'o & Tevez that Hughes plans to have two sets of strikers; RSC & Bellamy or Tevez & Eto'o with similar scenario to what the RAGS had years back with Sherringham & Solskjaer, Cole & Yorke. Makes perfect sense to me considering injuries suspensions . Also as a manager who would you rather select on a cold, wet January night to play against Burnley away; RSC & Bellamy or Eto'o & Robinho? That way Hughes could rotate the squad to our advantage. This is probably the plan if we pull off the signings.

Bellamy, keep.

Any chance we could 'talk up' Benjani or Chud and flog them to the spiv?

Re: Dirty Harry to bid £10 mil for Bellyache

It's on goal.com so isn't true but I'd be happy for him to go. He can't play up front on his own and we've got plenty of strikers

We will have to take a big hit on the transfer fee and no one will pay anywhere near the £90+k or so we're paying him so we'd expect to pay £50k a week for the next 4 years just to watch him play for spuds

Why on earth would that be good news? He scored 5 goals in 7 games for us or something?

He's got all the right attributes, pace, bite, skill and motivation... the only problem is his dodgy knee.

I hope it's true, if only for what it says about the progress on the Tevez/Eto deals. It would surprise me though, especially given the all out hositlity of the Spuds fans to Mr Bellyache. But he's a good player.

Re: Dirty Harry to bid £10 mil for Bellyache

I really hated the signing, but I have to say he is a better player when fit than I thought, so it got me thinking. Why is his goal scoring rate so bad(for someone clearly quite talented)? The only answer I can come up with is that his injury record in much worse than it appears and he plays many more games injured than fit(remember how poor he looked when he came back from the 1st injury). So I'm not sure. What's worse, an average player with a poor fitness record or a good player with an absolutely dreadful fitness record?

Re: Dirty Harry to bid £10 mil for Bellyache

It doesn't matter if it's true or not.

Redknapp will come out and say 'I'd laaaave to 'ave that Bellamy boy for the 'otspurs, but he plays for anover team, so 'eees aander contract innee'. Then he'll leave it six weeks hoping Bellers gets unsettled and eventually he'll offer £750,000 plus Bentley, we'll tell him to do one and it'll be 'We made a serious offer for the boy, but City turned us daaan.' He'll then spend 14 million on someone from the French 2nd division we've never heard of.
