I agree. Just wondered whether he’d done that Tory thing where they don’t actually apologise but beg for forgiveness.
Is he seeking forgiveness for whatever he did with his assistant rather than his criminally negligent approach to the lives of the vulnerable? I assume the former rather than the latter? In which case whether sincere or not I don't care because it's just deflection.
He's beyond the pale but the people who probably should be apologising are the ones who made the decision to have him on the show in the first place. Using a character like that, with all he represents, for the purposes of entertainment tells you how low we've sunk as a society. Whilst it's not my cup of tea I can understand why people might find it entertaining generally but I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would watch it whilst he's on. It's properly insulting to a significant proportion of the population.
