Discuss Pellegrini....

Manuel got it wrong tonight, which is a shame after such a brilliant few months. Once Fernandinho was out we were in trouble. He should have played Jovetic for Dzeko and Clichy for Kolarov when he knew Fern wasn't playing. You cannot play 4-4-2 with Yaya and MDM, it's asking for trouble. It was a game of the defensive midfielders; MDM couldn't get near Hazard and Matic and Luiz smothered Silva. Great performance by Chelsea, superb from Mourinho but a bad night for City and MP. The fact they drew last week though means this isn't as bad as it could have been.

Anti football vs Beautiful football....

Well the c**t ha same points as of us as being a nasty bi*ch.........rough football seems his way......we should also become tough and play them at their rugby match..

chelsea is Next stoke city.....

What was Pellegrini supposed to do? Garcia and Ferna both injured. Milner just coming back from a long injury. Rodwell looked shit against Watford.

I don't think he likes Demichelis in midfield any more than we do. He's not stupid, he just lacked any other option to throw in midfield today.

There's a reason we were booking jets from Portugal during the transfer window. Txiki knew it too.

The damage was done long before today's game.

Fernandinho played far too many minutes in pointless cup competitions, Aguero shouldn't have gone the whole 90 minutes against Watford and Nasri was just plain unlucky.

Pellegrini I fear isn't streetwise enough to edgeit.

He got it completely and utterly wrong tonight.

2 in midfield for us versus their 5. As soon as I saw the lineup I said we'd be walked over.

Have to agree. Very poor from Pellegrini tonight. He doesn't seem to realise that you don't set up the same way against Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern etc as you do against West Ham, Norwich.

Absolute rubbish. Speaks volumes that you're in this thread so soon after the final whistle. Funny i've not seen you posting for the last few weeks.

So tell me you think you do set up the same way.

A perfect storm of injuries, tactics and a very solid Chelsea side. Feel we could have made more of a game of that than we did even with the players available, but as long as the response is another run like the one we went on after Sunderland we'll be fine.

Yeah, that's largely how I see it. Had Silva converted that early chance we would have forced Chelsea to come out of their shell and been able to play our own game a bit more. It always felt like we had to score first tonight as we never really looked like carving Chelsea open and creating a wealth of good opportunities once they took the lead.

Pellikeegan

One way of playing. Predictable. So when he comes up against an astute tactician like Guardiola or Mourinho, he gets completely found out.

They spend all week preparing to play against us, they know exactly how we'll play, and come up with a game plan accordingly.

Whether we're playing Norwich, Bayern or Chelsea, we play exactly the same way with the same personnel. We make no alterations whatsoever depending on who we're playing. That gives our opponents a clear advantage.

Nice fella, scores plenty of goals against shite teams, found out against the best.

Mourinho on the other hand, horrible prick, horrible football. Winner. That's the difference.

Wonder why we waited until the last couple of days in the transfer window to try and pick a DM and CB up, trying to get on the cheap?

It's been 3 or 4 windows we haven't sorted our centre back issue out, that's not Pellegrini's fault

Mourinho alters his team to consider the opposition, Pellegrini doesnt. No conviction in the team tonight. I like MP but some complacency for me.

No, it really wasn't.

The damage was being done when the manager watched on and did nothing. We needed the pack the midfield because Hazard and William were running through us... he had a good solid 80 minutes to bring on Milner and make it difficult for them, bizarre that he didn't do anything.
