Discussion: Ferran Soriano (2015/16)

Soriano has done a wonderful job for us so far. He's turned us around in a financial sense, and isn't he the one who negotiates sponsorship deals for us?

Him and Tom Glick, who's now happily returned from New York.

This guy has been a boon to the club. When I saw the first "thumb-tack/city sponser deal in alaska," I was under no illusions that we had, at the helm, the new generation of top football finance guys. The rise in revenue through commercial deals alone has been crazy and there are few people on the planet who could replicate such progress.

On the other hand, I do not trust this guy as far as I can throw him, and I hope that Khaldoon and Co have countermeasures in place for a potential double-cross, because these corporate visionary types will sell you down a river just as soon as it benefits them.

Mind you, our owners likely have many skeletons of their own, so I guess they know the drill. The blue moon continues to rise. Gotta love it :D

What utter, ill-informed tripe. Many people who have dealt with Soriano (and Begeristain and Khaldoon) comment on their integrity and transparency.

You have literally no idea whatsoever as to whether Soriano is "trustworthy" or not. In reality, many people with big reputations like this guy realise that to be successful you need to be trusted, because what comes around goes around, and football is not that big a world at the top.

You're right, I have literally no idea whether he is trustworthy. I still don't trust him. And he may have a spotless record within the world of football, but the general trend when it comes to corporate visionaries means that he will never have my trust as a person. (Not that he needs my trust, or it's even important.)

Of course, his allies will have great words for him. You think Bill Gates' allies don't have great words for him? It might just be my 'poor-person mentality' but I'm sure if one was to ask in the right places, you would find 'not so great' words about him. If I was a betting man, I'd start around the Spanair scandal.

Anyway, right or wrong, I don't trust him.

Good for you. luckily Khaldoon has a bit more business sense than you and trusts him enough to run MCFC.
