Part of me kind of wants Pellegrini to stay and oversee a revamp of the squad purely as it sends a message to the players that it's not just the manager who faces the consequences of a poor season. They clearly outed Mancini and I worry it's going to be a recurring theme if it's just the manager that is sacked this season.

On the other hand don't think I can stomach another season of 4-4-2 with DZeko.

I feel the same way. I have a horrible feeling next season everything will be fine and everyone will feel justified in blaming Pellegrini but then the new manager upsets the apple cart in some way and we're back to square one.

No one should be under any illusion that just changing the manager will rectify our slump, to me MP added to the problem he wasn't totally at fault for it, the players take a large slice as well as other factors, a few heads need to roll he will be just one of them

Woah! Did anyone see that coming?

I wouldn't be against us taking a punt on Klopp, far from it, but I can't see him and Txiki at the same club. JK is THE guy at Dortmund, and employing him as a mere coach would be very strange indeed.

What About Giving Viera A Go!

If Pellegrini does go, i would like Viera to be given a chance.
He has done wonders with the EDS while doing all his coaching badges.
He is well respected by all the players young and old. His career has to say been impressive.
Knows the club inside out and has the personality and strength to handle big name players.
I think now is the perfect tome for him to blend some youth from the EDS with the other first team players and we do really have some quality youngsters in there.

Could give him a one year rolling contract and see where we go. If he does not do well we have other options by then for managers.

But with Lopes, Rekik, Denayer, and Angelino to name a few. We have to blood these guys at sometime and i think Viera is not afraid of doing that.

Right now, who the replacement is is academic. The reality is that we are sinking fast. It's not change for changes sake, it's change to emphasis the vital importance of the next 5 games. All the summer plans and probably the expansion plans rest on these upcoming games. Get rid of him and worry about the replacement later. He is the problem.

He was approached before Pellegrini to replace Mancini. Pretty sure he's on record as saying so.
