Well we won't know what the team he puts out will be until an hour before the game so lets wait and see

I agree we have to wait and see. But most of that team have not played together pre season.

Usually I would err on the side of 'be patient', but you have to take last season into account when saying that - my patience ran out then, and ending the season didn't just reset everything to zero. If we'd had a good transfer window it would be easier, but we haven't (so far) and I think the squad is actually weaker than last year.

Putting my personal feelings on Pellegrini aside (for the record, I think he is distinctly average) what I am really concerned about though is the assumption, seemingly nailed on for everyone, that Pellegrini is gone at the end of the year at the latest. We should never have gone into any season with that mindset, and I said it several times last year, we had to either sack him or extend his contract.

Even given my reservations about him being up to the job I would rather his contract had been extended than to go into this season with a perceived dead man walking at the helm.

Genuinely worried about how this situation will affect us this year, and not at all impressed that it has been allowed to happen.

So help me explain why Heynkes won a triple with his squad knowing he would be gone and replaced by Pep? You're trying to be balanced but your comment smacks of disbelieve us losing this one match and you wanna blame someone for feeling frustrated.

The temptation must now be to rush back all 4 South Americans for West Brom. I watched today's fiasco up to the 70 minutes mark and then had to go out. We've a week to rebuild the team. Friendly or not today was unacceptable. Kompany and Mangala should consider themselves as third and fourth choices on that display (you pick the order it matters little but personally I'd put Vinny fourth). Sagna - why did we ever sign him? No central midfield and apart from Sterling little up front until I went out. Seriously Pellegrini and Txiki need to take stock of the situation or they'll both get the bullet in September. A complete and utter shambles. Zero organisation.

Don't let the Pellegrini fan club here you say that, it's a pointless friendly after all- the Germans only took it seriously because City are in town you know.
