Discussion: Manuel Pellegrini 2015/16

The players we have could be moulded into such a strong , technical, machine. Pellegrini is tactically inept. As has been pointed out he has no plan b,c or d. I feel this group of players will be over the hill befor they can reach the heights they are capable of.

I really don't understand why he is here. He brings nothing to the table.

We seem to have an ability to play well in the first half of any league game. We have gone in at half time with a lead once in the last 10 league games.

If you look at the last 2 games v last season's top 6.

Chelsea w 3-0, d 1-1
Arsenal l 2-0, d 2-2
Utd d 0-0, l 4-2
Spurs l 4-1, w 1-0
Liverpool l 4-1, l 2-1.

So played 10, won 2, drawn 3, lost 5.

He makes baffling decisions 9 out of every 10 games, whether that's his subs or his formation, or his starting line up. He never learns or even attempts to learn from his mistakes. Last season we played 2 in the middle v Liverpool and got battered at Anfield. Here we are again with the exact same issue but this time along with this he rests on current form our 2 best defensive players for no apparent reason.

For someone who does fuck all on the touch line seeing him make basic fuck ups week in week out is very tiresome.

If and I say IF that we are looking to replace Pellers at the end of the season, and the fact this speculation was going on last season as well is hardly stabilising for either players or manager. The way this has all been handled has not helped. Most changes of manager are swift and decisive and don't drag on. I am certainly not defending Pellers for his decisions yesterday or previously but all this uncertainty cannot help.

Comparing Bullseye to Pellergrini .

Classic City talk .

You don't get that with any other club.

There was a very angry City supporter

near me yesterday .

He said F off Pellergrini you old pr**k

I'm not a big fan of Pellergrini .

But my thoughts are a lot of that side let him down yesterday .

Over 60% of the players were signed under his management. His tactics were borderline insane.

The players weren't great but he picked the team and didn't think about changes until it was already lost.

I wasn't sat next to him to understand what he was discussing with his technical team, but I would bet discussions were taking place. As always, we don't know what goes on behind closed doors and for all we know, that was the best starting 11 he had available.

I get everyone is tetchy because we were hammered at home by the dippers, but some seem to want to make this the biggest disaster since the Titanic. We lost to the better team yesterday. Manuel played some part in that, so did the 11 on the pitch.
That first paragraph is your favourite, go to excuse whenever we've had a stinker. Of course we don't know if that was the only team available to him but the fact that the players who should have started were on the bench tells us that they Were, at the very least, available.
It was a ridiculous starting line up. No shape, no energy and from where I was sitting no real game plan. We had a midfield pairing that have had very limited success (that's being kind) together. A brand new CB pairing, one of which is too old and the other to inexperienced without Kompany or Ottomendi to hold his hand and a full back in Sagna who's head wasn't in it from the first minute (understandably so btw)
So when you start a game with so many potential problems through the middle of the park you're asking for trouble - even more so when up against a Liverpool team who were always going to play one way.
Everybody (bar you and Pellegrini it seems) in that stadium could see a mile off how it was going to pan out. The only surprise was we kept the score below 6.

The dreadful decision before kickoff is one thing. The fact he then said he would do it again, is quite another. Here was me thinking he had finally decided he was going to start using tactics & balanced teams, rather than just believing any old 11 he puts out with no centre midfield, will do the job. But it was an illusion.

I said the other day there is no point in replacing him unless Pep is lined up. The fact he is pretty much affirming that he believes in that ridiculous system with knackered Yaya 'chasing' 24 year old sprinters towards a 97 year old cb next to a slow fullback & nervous neddy cb partner, means he's unfit for the job imo.

Suddeny at half time he brings on a geezer who has never played for us, in a system we don't usually play, with the same defence & complains that it didn't work..

The players knew. Joe Hart knew. That's why he was running around like a fucking lemon. He knew we were lined up wrong & was panicking, thus making it worse. Yaya himself must surely know he can't do that job, he hasn't got the legs, yet is repeatedly asked to make a **** of himself.

What happens next, is that players such as Silva, Kompany, Aguero & even Yaya, get together & sort out Pellegrini's fucking mess, & we go on a winning spree & he takes the credit. Or they can'ft muster it & we need to rely on his managerial/motivational skills. Which means we finish 6th.

I hope we come up with a big win on Wed for the sake of the club. Then we can get back on track.

But this fucker taking credit for it ? He is a very lucky man to have this job.

Very true. It's sad to say but the best thing now would be for him to go immediately.

Mystery layered upon mystery, if he doesn't believe that we played that badly it's not a good starting point for preventing a repeat performance.
This is the type of comment that gets a manager the sack. He seems to be saying that we played badly but he has no idea why, and it had nothing to do with him.
