Always City in casual conversation. Man City is mostly used by non Manchester folk. Not really sure when I would ever say 'Man City' tbh, unless it was the only version which fit with a particular song. I definitely wouldn't say to a friend 'I'm going to the Man City game' that's for sure.

Manchester City as an introduction.

I find it a bit irritating when they call us City when the teams come out. The worst ever was

"Please welcome city... and Manchester United!!!!!"

Like if Mike Tyson was boxing, they would call him Tyson but when they're introducing him it's Iron Mike Tyson. I find our introduction to be akin to a boxing announcer saying 'Please welcome Tyson!'

Haha! Totally agree with this. We should be announced on to the pitch as "Manchester City" every single time.

They sent a questionnaire out a couple of years ago asking what what you refer to the club as. The options were Manchester City, Man City, City and The Citizens. Obviously most people answered "City" as in passing conversation with friends, family and work colleagues no one from the area would ever say "I'm going to watch Manchester City tonight" why would you??!!

Everyone I know casually just calls us City. I cringe at "Man City" and can't ever recall using it. I would only ever use "Manchester City" when talking to someone on holiday or someone who isn't English.

I think the club have mis read the info from the questionaire. Just because I call us "City" in everyday conversation, doesn't mean that's how we should be announced on to the pitch! It sounds forced and awkward when the announcer says it, and should go back to "Welcome on to the pitch Manchester City".

I call us City to other people who are football fans and Man City to people who aren't. Seems a pretty simple way of dividing it.

I honestly never heard of that being a problem before.

Hate the Man City, no other city with a club know as City are abbreviated like Brum City or Bris City. Man isn't used in other ways when referring to Manchester. Learned to live with City as its what the foreign press refer to us as "The City"
Keegan in his first press conference was pulled up by a fan when he said Man City, was told he was the manager of Manchester City not Man City

Non City fans invariably refer to us as Man City. Why? Because in conversation they have to differentiate between all the Citys. We don't have to do that because it's usually pretty obvious who we're referring to when we say City, especially when talking to other City fans on a City fans Forum.
