Re: Discussion: Manuel Pellegrini 2014/15 (continued)

Bayern where missing robben and Ribery tonight. That's like barca losing two out of there front line. Pep is an absolute fantastic manager. Can't believe some can say otherwise. Well I can, football is full of fickle football fans who love a good knee jerk.

Guardiola has still won 5 out of 6 possible league titles, 2 out of 6 possible champions league trophies, reached the champions league semi final 6 out of 6 times and 12 other trophies meaning he has won an average of 3.16 trophies per season so far so let's not forget he is still the best manager around and not rule him out after a bad game ( although worryingly it happened last year vs Real Madrid too)

well he has managed 2 teams that were already top 3 in the world.. id like to see how Pellegrini does next year with the new summer signings then see if Pep fancy coming to City..
Obviously Pep is a brilliant manager.

But without the Messi, the two times he's played teams not visibly inferior to his he's been battered.
If we're pulling the 'he had messi' card then we may aswell not count tonight's result as Enrique had messi. He is a big part in why messi is what he is today aswell as messi improved massively when he took over. Of course pep has some faults, such as the 3 at the back idea today but at least he had a plan, although a wrong one, to try to play against barca and when his plan didn't work he changed it before it was too late which shows he can accept his mistakes and change it. Pellegrini would have gone there with a 4-2-2-2, or maybe a variant where silva plays almost as a striker he is that far forward in a 4-4-1-1 and the. Changed it if it didn't work after 70 minutes when the game was over.

Pep is still the best man that we could get to replace Pellegrini.

You can quibble over whether or not Pep should have let his team go for the away goal at 2 down but the forst two goals they conceded had sod all to do with failings in Pep.

Also that attacking approach is the philosophy our club appears to want to follow.

But that's the philosophy Pellegrini has been following. I note that he's naive and tactically inept when he does it but Mr Guardiola is a man "who will not stray from his beliefs and you've got to respect him for that". Now I know it's only Jamie Carraghef who said that but it seems to be what many on here think. If that 3rd goal had gone in against City, with two minutes to go and eight players in their half, bluemoon would have gone into meltdown.
Whilst not trying to say Gaurdiola is rubbish, because he plainly is not, he's managed 2 of the best 3 teams over the last seven years. During that time he's presided over 18 away games in the Champions League knock out stages. He's won 4, drawn 8 and lost 6. He might come to City and he might be a success. Then again.......

Re: Discussion: Manuel Pellegrini 2014/15 (continued)

No we need a manager who tactically out thinks his opponents, motivates his players to run through brick walls for him, utilises all his players and creates systems which makes best use of them and is never dull to listen to for pre and post match interviews. So Pelligrini it is then!

(I'm being sarcastic :-))

Bayern, Guardiola may go away: the City offered him a budget of 300m
05.06.2015 23:43 of Antonio Gaito Twitter: antonio_gaito

At the end of the season Pep Guardiola could leave Bayern Monaco. With the probable elimination semi-final with Barca, the coach - reports Sky Sports - could decide to accept the court's Manchester City who is insisting on having it immediately making available a super budget of € 300m from a list that includes talents such as De Bruyne Wolfsburg and Sterling of Liverpool.
