Yeh I know where you're coming from mate, I think both full back positions we could do with some younger players competing for a place, maybe there are some kids in the youth team who will be ready the season after next and we're biding our time? I know Viera said Angelino is the best player in the EDS so maybe he's getting prepared in New York?

I think it's so important that we make a statement in the market this summer. Fresh, young, hungry players that will lift the old guard. These 3 are exactly that type and if Txiki gets them all in, I might just have to forgive him for Fernando!

If we can get fabinho and baba then we are most certainly set for years to come in the full back positions if maffeo and angelino turn out as we hope!

Agree with that, but I can't see us being able to afford Baba, Fabinho, De Bruyne, Sterling and Pogba. It sounds like far too much upheaval.

Pardon, can't afford? Upheaval I understand your concerns, but the top club's seize the moment. Zabaleta is the only clear choice at full back. He has not been rotated properly due to a combination of injuries elsewhere and Sagna being such a different type of fullback. Players can be bought and loaned out, or as Matic has shown developed and bought back at agreed fee's, Pique being another example. The key is to leave behind the Ickle city feelings. No we should always look for value, but not at the expense of missing out on quality player's.

If you look at it,

Baba - £18m
Fabinho - £15m
Pogba - £71m
De Bruyne - £50m
Sterling - £46m
Delph - £8m

Total £208m spent.

Even with players leaving I'm not sure we could manage that, seems too much, maybe in the future when we are posting higher revenues, but not now I don't think. I'm hopeful that Txiki gets the big three done if he does, I want him immortalised outside the ground with a golden statue.

If our revenues increase over the next 2 years as they have over the last 2, then our budget could be £300 million a season. Going forward, hopefully we will see a at least 2 players a season of the correct standard coming through from the youth set up. A big window needed to renergise the squad. Then a revolving door of failures and dross leaving and top quality and prospect's coming in. At some point it will be a 60% home grown squad and the best from around the world.

if we can sign up these guys, surviving some FFP sanction would feel more bearable. Then again, doing well on CL would give monumental rewards if you consider earning potential from the optimistic viewpoint

Its going to be an interesting week i hope we can get these deals done so players can settle in.Going of topic there is a great article in the daily star on jurgen klopp basically saying he is ready to return to management.he says"i know clubs were interested but i say nothing about this."then he says the premier league is very interesting.then a quote from uwe rosler saying"we know each other would he do a good job yes i think he would and i think he will come".
