Here's a point that Gollum mentioned, Leighton Baines kicked the ball against Nasri's shin before it went out for a throw, he was right. We then see Nasri change the way that he was moving to go and retrieve the ball for the throw in. So yes, it should habe been a defensive throw and we scored from the next segment of play. What Mr Moyes then failed to mention is that a player that he had just brought on, Louis Saha, stood watching his 2 team mates defend against 3 City attackers in the corner. All the other Everton players were marking up, Saha just watched Aguero take the ball along the edge of the box before Fellaini comes back, too late. Did Moyes or his coaching staff not tell Saha his defensive duties before he came on? You wouldn't catch David Platt not giving one of our players his 3 minuite defensive pep talk before he came on. You blame it on the ref's assistant if you like Gollum, but, your team had time to organise themselves. Last week we didn't get the push in the back on Dzeko that led to Fulham's 2nd goal, it's swings and roundabouts.
My analysis would be: Instead of going for a 1-0 lead then defending Moyes decided that his team would once again try to kick our most dangerous player out of the game as always happens in City/ Everton games. Well it didn't work this time as Everton ran out of players to 'take a booking for the team' and Silva was then of the shackles. Nasri and Aguero put a shift in, so why their work rate, taking pressure off 'closely marked' Silva was not mentioned we'll never know. Perhaps Hansen & Lawrenson only watched the edited highlights, alongside John Parrott & Elton Welsby.
