The Truth About Drugs In Football...

I wonder what they could mean ?

Drugs in football?

Must be something to do smuggling . . the buggers hide the stuff in all sorts of things.
Can't be much in it though - no unless it's a huge football!

Go to youtube and type in 'Do I not like that part 6'.

Go to 1:16 and what watch Merson storm into the changing rooms seemingly in 'high spirits'. Then go to 1:50 and watch Coke Head pass a pair of boots to Ian Wright after he's just said to Wright 'You can have it, I'll give it you now'.

They both suddenly go very quiet when the boots are being handed over.

It could all be innocent though...

-- Wed Sep 07, 2011 10:15 pm --

We could actually start a game called what's in the boots...;]

Feel free to hazard a guess.

Can see a few being caught out by this programme to be honest hopefully none of our lot but the way some of the players like to throw the cash about in clubs and what not. In the last few years the Sunday papers have done stories about the west brom player bedner? Not quite sure and then there was one with carrol and Nolan in the last season or two. Can't see them running this programme unless they were going to name a few names at least, an hours show to suggest what everybody already suspects ain't going to be great tv and I'll be a bit disappointed to say the least. I'll put carrol as favorite and Anderson as an outside bet

Football will be no different to the majority of sports, performance enhancers will be common place as the advantages and rewards from their use far outweigh the negatives making them a risk worth taking.

Is this recreational or performance enchancing?

If it is enhancing, I'm looking forward to it - hope they weed out any cheats. If it's recreational, I'm not really that interested in what players and staff get up to in bars and clubs after a game (as long as they're right on a matchday).

Also, I've never understood why the lengths of ban is the same for positive tests for recreational and enhancing? Players taking recreational drugs are, in one way or another, decreasing their level of performance and giving an advantage to the opposition.

I think it's actually "Drugs in Footballs" and people are smuggling drugs in footballs - they are opening the stitches putting the drugs in and sewing the balls back up again. Who would ever check in them? Very clever stuff!

I don't know. Ketamin can be used to numb pain, MDMA can be used as a stimulant.. but on the whole yes, they would be detrimental. Plus if it showed Rio Ferdinand sniffing lines off a table in the back of a pub it would be hilarious!

A programme on PED's would be interesting, especially if they have some real substance to their stories!

I hope Wilshere is finally picked up for his nights with his friend Charlie, saviour of England my derrière. Nothing much more than your average scum bag, shame a head like that has such talent.

Bit of a vague title.

I've studied a lot about doping in sports (because at Sheffield Hallam, they allow you to do such degrees), and I think there's a lot of stuff in football which probably goes unnoticed. Blood-spinning for example.

Bit off topic, but the 'Death on the mountain' documentary is worth a watch.
