But not if your are the spaceman. At light speed you can traverse the entire universe instantly. Because time stops at light speed. Even if you never reached actually light speed, and just got very very very very close, you could traverse whole galaxies thousands of light years across, in a matter of days.

It is fascinating to realise that the photons which left the most distant parts of the universe and which are hitting the earth right now, 13 billion years after they left, have from their perspective only just left zero seconds ago. They have literally traversed the entire universe in less than the blink of an eye.

This is what I was alluding to in the Space X thread (and perhaps it was you who posted the above in a previous thread.
Can't *quite* get my head round it to be fair. Wouldn't you need an almost infinite amount of energy to shift mass at light speed (or near to)?
So 'light speed' is our own observation of light traversing the galaxy/universe: it would take us 6 years to watch light travel 6 light years, but the light itself has made that distance instantly...

...me neither.
