Do we know the scale of which the arguments got to in the City changing room after Hull??
Do we know apart from 6 players how many other players were confident in Hughes?

Its so easy to blame Cook and Marwood for the sacking of Hughes but look at it this way. If you were in the Shieks position and watched City in the last 2 months would you honestly say we were playing great football with 200 million quids worth of player??

The Shiek and the board would of seen the poor defending we have seen week in week out and realised that at times our tactics and play was shocking.
The top four has never been so achievable for any top ten team in the premierships history. United, Liverpool and Arsenal are very weak and now is the time to strike. Hughes comments that only fourth place was up for grabs this year really shocked me.
It said to me he had set his targets low and if we won our game in hand we will still only be a few points off the top 3. If they have all lost over 4 games in the first half of the season what will they loose in the second half??
African nations cup will be a huge blow to Chelsea and Arsenal. Liverpool are in freefall and united are getting poorer by the week. Any one with a football brain will know a manager with the the right players who are focussed and committed can take this league by storm even now.

This club has the players NOW to win the league THIS year with the right manager. Mark Hughes believed this was unachievable this season. I guarentee you Mancini will be looking at trying to win it even now!

Its like anything in life it aint going to happen if you do not believe. If you do not believe as a manager then how can you expect your players to believe in you?
Ask yourself this question?
Has any other club in the premiership got a stronger squad on paper than us this season? No not at all. So why the hell can Manchester City not win the league this year.
If you do not have faith, you do not have hope................If you do not have hope you have nothing.
Do you honestly think the football tactics we had under Hughes were going to win us trophies. Would you put your mortgage on it after what you had seen??? Me neither.
Hughes will be a good manager in 5 to 10 years because he will learn from his mistakes.
People can say you need time but you do not need 18 months with a blank cheque book and 25 world class players. You need great tactics, great leadership and vision and belief.

It might take a few games but i believe in the board and i believe in Mancini.

Why?? well because i look at the boards history and i look at Mancini's history and the proof is in the pudding. They are all winners and Mancini has the trophies to prove it.
The board have the bank balance.

"o ye of little faith"

CITY TILL I DIE.

FORZA MANCINI!

I think your point about the "alledged" fights in the last few games between the players is a very good one. As an owner I imagine your not to fussed about players outing other players in private but if the dispute turned to a physical dispute between several players you have a concern. Now a one off I guess he could have let go, twice (Notlob) then I would have strted to ask serious questions but for it to happen again...? Maybe or maybe not at Tottenham? Says to me that your manager (thinking as the owner here) doesnt have control, also no shape on the pitch and lack of being able to change a game and you have a big problem that needed sorting.
It was sumed up on the radio (GMR) on the way home from the match when they tried to explain our formations under Hughes "it's like someone has dropped a bag of marbles on the floor and where they land is where they play" no real shape or structure.

I agree pal i think there is a lot more to this. We have to remember that players like Robiniho, Adeybyor, Toure,De-Jong,Tevez have played under some great managers and will know that certian things that happen behind closed doors do not contribute to a successfull team.
If a player had signed a 4 year contract then that would worry him.

There is no doubt the board would of spoke to players before this decision was made.
Players do not need motivating by a manager to beat Arsenal and Chelsea, its the Hull's and Burnleys that need focus and motivation.

But those 200m was paid simply to bring the then shite City squad up to scratch - which it has done. Besides, there is the inflation to take into account. When City are paying, the price was always going to be higher. They brought in the best players that they could and the fact is, no matter how much money, you do not have the pulling power to bring in the best. Lescott and Toure will not win you the league, but who else would you have bought that would have joined?
The Shiek and the board would of seen the poor defending we have seen week in week out and realised that at times our tactics and play was shocking.

Your defending was shocking because your defenders are average. Kolo Toure is a fantastic athelete but he always shone next to more commanding, football minded players - Campbell, Senderos

Your league position is evidence that your tactics were not "shocking"

Not really, they are weaker and a lot of teams are stronger but they're hardly weak. Liverpool is on a downward spiral but everyone thought that about Arsenal last season and they rallied.

If the top 4 are weaker and everyone else is stronger, than you should not be as shocked with your results. If the league is better than it was, you were obviously going to do less well against teams that may have been pushovers last season.

It said to me he had set his targets low and if we won our game in hand we will still only be a few points off the top 3. If they have all lost over 4 games in the first half of the season what will they loose in the second half??

Chelsea will be affected but will buy like crazy in the transfer market. Arsenal will lose Alex Song and Eboue. Denilson will cover for Song and they are hardly going to be affected by losing their second choice right back. Not to mention they are likely to buy to replace Van Persie and the outgoing Senderos so they are likely to be stronger.

Arsenal have a game in hand, win that and they're second. Hardly in freefall.

We all know the deal with Chelsea, even if they are on a semi bad run, they have the best squad in the league without doubt. Proven stars, experienced manager, experienced players, creates a seige mentality. They may not win every game this season, but if they come below second, I will be shocked.

If the likes of Sunderland and Fulham can beat Arsenal and United, they can beat Manchester City aswell.

The only real position that's up for grabs is fourth, and even that is debatable. With Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard in their squad, I think Liverpool can do it. They're quite capable of hitting a run of wins and then every thing changes. Having said that, it MAY be too late. They are lacking in some areas and don't have the money to invest in January. We'll just have to see. I don't think Aston Villa have the squad to keep their form up, but they can definitely give City a run for their money. In the end, I think Tottenham can push on and make fourth their own.

Far from it. There's a reason no other club wanted Tevez, Adebayor or Toure - who are arguably the stars of your team. TBH, in terms of quality, I'd rather have Bellamy or SWP in my team.

Robinho is a player of real quality in your team, but you have to wonder whether his heart is in it.

You have some good players, but your defensive record is not just down to bad management, it's down to bad players. So if your defence is not good enough, how will you win the league. And I repeat, who would join you that would be an improvement?

Has any other club in the premiership got a stronger squad on paper than us this season? No not at all. So why the hell can Manchester City not win the league this year.

United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, maybe even Liverpool - they're having a bad time but do not have a bad squad.

Mancini won one of the title because Milan had theirs stripped. The once the competition in Milan and Juve were taken out, Inter were always going to emerge as the dominant force. There's a reason he didn't win before that. And in one of those years, Roma ran them really close.

That's not to say he's a good manager, transfer wise I think he's brilliant, and maybe he's what you need. Definitely should have the mentality of a manager at a top club, but managers are not in players, in that they can adapt to new situations at clubs. Look at Juande Ramos.

However, he has his drawbacks and is not as all proven as you'd think.

I respect your views but i do not agree with them as i think you come across as a red or another supporters who is scared of the potential of city.

Just to add i find it hard to understand why you would want to come on this forum if you are not a blue??

What an absolute load of anti-city contrived and spun sh*te.

Probably the worst post i have seen on bluemoon.
