^^THIS^^

I have not bought one or read one for years, none of the contents are "news" as they must have happened the day before and most of it is just distorted beyond recognition.

Doesn't matter if the papers spout utter disingenuous vile bollocks what I think is diabolical is a major sports station reporting the lies as if its the truth

There's nothing in this story beyond the obvious: that if do badly over the next few games he's in trouble. Standard tabloid over-dramatic headline.
Over-dramatic, or outright rubbish?

You've been feeding them

i think he is as safe as houses for this season unless we don't even look like finishing top 3.

i wont be getting hysterical if we lose a a game or two,or get knocked out the FA Cup.Because i am convinced the right time to review is at the end off this season.Thats when the best candidates will be available to replace him.

Hopefully it wont be necessary because we will be champions.

No, they don't get paid for writing that crap; they get paid to wind up people who get drawn in by it.

-- Sat Dec 15, 2012 9:50 am --

I've not bought any paper (apart from FAC+Prem winning collectors ones) since I was a student. The old broadsheets are just as bad for talking shit as the red tops when it comes to sport.

The thing is there are millions of people who can't help but be intrigued by it all, and fuel the flames for them to continue to write.

Makes me laugh when someone who wastes loads of time talking shite on a football website gets all pompous about the press. 'I don't read any of them'. Yeah, fucking right, aren't you just soooooo above it all?

It's as hollow and superior sounding, and its the same sentiment, as ' I don't watch television'. If you want to eliminate an entire form of media from your life that's your loss, but don't make out its some sort of virtue.

Not at all. In 2012 there is no need for any newspapers to exist. We have the Internet and even then we don't even need to go on any newspaper websites with the amount of information you can get from other sources.

In the sport sections of papers they talk utter bollocks almost all of the time. I don't need telling by some London yuppie with an English/Sports Journalism degree about the tactics of a game i know more about than the writer (my Mam probably knows more about tactics than some of them), and I can go on football statistics websites for any detailed information i ever want on any player or team.

Plus any story worth any credit will have NAMED sources, quoted, to back up their story; but then I can just go to the club's official website or YouTube/Vimeo to see the full interview/press conference/official speech and I don't get all the fluffy 'filler' from the journalist.

There are two decent sports writers in Britain; two! I can get their stories on Bluemoon anytime when they are posted so I don't have to click on the newspaper's website. I never have any need to ever buy a paper (I can just go on the internet, watch documentaries on tele or read books on real world subjects too).
