Do you like Christmas?

If you've no pan lids and can afford it, then go away for Christmas. When you factor in the lack of a big Turkey shop and gas/electric consumption and spending for the sake of wanton spending, then on a financial footing there's nothing really in it. You also miss the streotypical tripe of brainwashing, via advertising and copycat mutterings .

Have a gud un, have a gud un.
Hows your Christmas been?
Its not the same as it used to be ..its all money money money:
What are you doing New Year?
It would have been nice if it had snowed. Its not Xmas without the snow.
I'll be glad when its all over.
Theres me hand theres me heart. (normally followed be a faux pa cuddle)
New years day for a nice walk in your new jumper working off the poundage to become .. the new you.
Resolutions by the bucketful....
Holiday adverts
Dieting adverts
January sales
Its incessant!

Need I go on ..Apart from Ben Hur, Sparticus and Banana flavoured Angel Delight, its all just a load of bollocks.

Think the answer depends on how your Xmases were growing up.

I hate the commercialisation of it. Having worked a bar for a few Xmases, I hate most Xmas songs too, through overhearing them.

Our Xmas day is better than it used to be, so actually enjoy that now and the subsequent in law days are lovely too.

There are some banging carols to be sung too.

Fuck Slade.

Love the feast of a dinner with family, the football and beers with friends. I hate the advertisements giving us Christmas burnout before it’s begun though.

I don’t mind most aspects of it, but the one thing I’ve got even less tolerant of now is the Christmas songs on the radio.
I’m not gonna name them, cos we all know the type of songs* I’m talking about.
Some of them were actually ok the first 200 times I heard them, but now, I have to leave whenever I hear them playing - but that basically means avoiding any shop, some pubs, and the radio in our kitchen.
Absolutely awful.

*I do still like Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses though!

In recent times we've always gone to my brother in laws house. 3 kids under 12, it's a joy to see their excitement. For me and the missus though...she loves it, I'd rather just treat as any other day.

This year is slightly different as I wasn't expected to still be here so I will do my best to be less grumpy about the whole affair...socks! Thank you...beaming smile...

As a kid I loved it. As an adult, I’m not arsed about it. It’s Groundhog Day every Christmas. Same food. Same TV programmes. Same Christmas music.(radio). As an adult, same presents. I prefer Boxing Day for some reason. On the plus side Christmas Day is better than New Yeas Eve, which I really, really hate! Maybe I’m just a miserable old c*nt? :-)
