Do you like Christmas?

I retired last year but previously ran my own business for over 10 years. Last 4 years I took all the staff out for a pre Christmas lunch.

Didn’t cost me too much as it was only me and my blue mate Dave who worked for the company, just the 2 of us! Mind you he likes a drink and the lunch turned into tea time drinks then last orders.

He runs the business now so he can take me out.
see now that kind of works do i could cope with

I do. But not looking forward to this one as it'll be the first one without my Mum who we lost the other week.
Condolences..yep its a sad time for so many me included..probably why I drink to much

I do. But not looking forward to this one as it'll be the first one without my Mum who we lost the other week.

Mine died on 14th December 2021 and I've found most events since have been hard for me to get excited for as the overwhelming thought is that she's not with us. Kids birthdays in particular as she was great at finding presents whereas my Dad just sends us some cash and asks us to sort it.

I try my best to make Christmas special for the kids but I still find it a challenge. What makes it worse is due to covid and things I can't actually remember the last Christmas I had with her either!

We don't have kids.

Personally I hate it.

Have to or encouraged to (and frowned upon when not) take 2 weeks of my holiday in rubbish weather I could have took in the summer.

See people you don't see all year that don't otherwise make an effort.

New Year is the same.
