Do you like circuses?

Back 20 years or so the Moscow State Circus was ace. They did UK tours on a regular basis. I remember seeing the "Triple" trapeze act in Brighton - before Health and Safety banned it - (the most difficult procedure as in the Burt Lancaster/Tony Curtis film "Trapeze" - Lancaster was a former circus acrobat). The similar Chinese State Circus was very good too - both hardly featured animals except horses.

And of course the Canadian Circus Soleil - specials feature on Sky Arts on a regular basis. These 3 were/are top drawer drawer

Back in 2000 or so I ended up on the stage of Cirque du Soliel in Orlando. Myself and an old flame got shown to our seats by one of the clowns in the pitch black, he left us standing there right in the centre until the first act came on and lights went up.........It's a long story but I got high 5s all round off the yanks.

I went to the bristol zoo in the eighties and the polar bear had literally gone mad in his tiny cell, never seen such a sad sight in my life , never been since . Been to a couple of safari parks which were very much better
