Do you really believe the league is over...?

Funny old league is this one. United and Chelsea had it easy for 2nd and 3rd. Now it looks like Spurs and Liverpool are having a late charge and threatening their CL status for next season! Chelsea look the most fragile strangely even though they probably have the best player in their ranks in Hazard. But it's a big one for both Chelsea and United who meet next weekend. If Chelsea lose, they could go down to 5th with Arsenal 5 pts behind them. If United lose, they could do down to 4th with Spurs 1 pt behind them. Great for the neutral. But imagine the backlash at the swamp if after buying all this talent, Jose parks the bus at Old Trafford v Conte and loses badly.

Maybe it's time to check up on how Liverpool's fans behaved in 2013-2014 when they were pretty sure they had won the league. Because that's the measure of a "big club" and we don't want to be seen as "small time" do we?

We're not singing we've won the league in the street are we? We're expressing an opinion that to all intents and purposes we've blown the chasing pack apart. They are fighting for points off each other now and a few lucky ones have to play us either side of UEFA CL dates.

Totally agree but would actually say that if he even parks the bus abd loses 0-1 then he will get slaughtered. Really hope Chelsea decide to turn up on that day and just put them to the sword.

I was actually suggesting (with a wry grin on my face) that we have more cause to "do a Liverpool" now than they had in 2014. At lot more cause, actually. But we seem to be more restrained than the fans of that "big club" down the East Lancs...

There’s a difference.
Liverpool were singing it way before they thought they were going to win the league and when they thought it was in the bag they had fucking champions t shirts printed before they had won it!
We on the other hand have had this title in the bag for weeks and that’s when City fans really started to believe.
It’s only a matter of time.

If we trash Arsenal and Chelsea win, we go 19 points clear and we get a classic Arsenal Fan TV. Please, if there's a God... (There is, KDB).

The thing is we can have a potentially large say in this happening -

Obviously first and foremost we need to beat them at Etihad.....

But us losing to Spurs and Chelsea would certainly help the cause....

Now would we be happy to lose 2 more games if it meant them finishing outside top 4 ????????? Hmmmmm

No way that should be even thought of. They should do their own job and beat United to get Top 4. Moreover, Mourinho has once helped us secure a title win, ending a 11 game winning run of Liverpool at Anfield.

I was looking at the number of games played. December and January at 9 and 8, were the most demanding months. In February we only have 5 games. March is 6 + 1 FA Cup match if we get past Wigan. There was a freshness about the team against Leicester and Basel which probably came from the drop off in the schedule.
April is 4 PL games + 1 Champions League (if we get to the semis) and 1 FA cup (if we get to the semis).
So, we have come through the most demanding schedule and sit 16 points ahead in the league.
The schedule ahead is much less demanding, fixture-wise: February; 5, March; 7, April; 6 (March and April assuming maximum progress in cups).
There can be little doubt that the league is in the bag. The days are getting longer, the players are getting more time for recovery, and injured players are returning.
Looking good.
