Do you still like the music you liked in your 20’s?

I am a 60's kid,i discovered music in the 70's with MJ ,osmonds and david cassidy(RIP) then marvin gaye and barry white, then the 80's with chic and disco music,if i hear any of it the words coming flooding back and i know every word and i get some memories and a feeling at home feeling, love it
my taste now is coldplay, mindless pop music, much younger taste than my age really

I frequented the Haçienda regularly during my late teens/early 20's and I still enjoy old school House Music. These days I have a wider taste in music. Having said that, Country Music is, and will always be s**te.

I'm with you, but some country is good, check this out just for the lyrics alone

I was age 9-10 and buying ABBA singles when punk hit and I remember being captivated by the Sex Pistols on TOTP. Got into 2-tone and the mod revival at 11-13, then indie and a bit of goth at 14-17, indie right through the mid-80's to now with a bit of hip-hop and electronica. Also had a phase in early 90's of jazz funk/acid jazz. I still listen to and enjoy everything i used to apart from the acid jazz stuff. My enduring musical love though is 80's indie - just love those jangly guitars - and memories of trolling round the country to see obscure bands in even more obscure venues.

Couldn't agree more! I'll listen to most genres of music and even if I'm not a huge fan of a particular genre I can still pick out a few songs that I do like. However, I can honestly say there's not a single country music track that I remotely like. Shite!

Good music always stands the test of time, so there's no reason why you shouldn't still be listening to music you listened to in your 20's.

On the other hand, there's no reason to stop listening to anything other than music from back then either.

Everything is influenced by something else, so if you like Pink Floyd, then you'll probably like Radiohead and if you like Radiohead and Pink Floyd, you might like this lot:

Sorry mate but Radiohead aren't fit to lick Floyd's boots...however I do see your point in general terms

Where are you from Bimbobob? I'm not tyring to get a reaction. I promise you, there's many, many people of my generation and from my part of the world that dislike country and western music. If you like it, that's your choice but it's not everyone's cup of tea but don't get so offended by people having a different taste to your own. If you genuinely believe that everyone that doesn't like the same music as you, are "complete fucking idiots" then I guess that is your opinion too.
The UK mate. In my bumbling manner I am trying to tell you to have a listen. Open your ears/ mind. Sure, most country stuff is dire in my, and your, opinion, but there are some hidden gems, so to just dismiss the whole genre as rubbish is madness.

Listen to Wichita Lineman. Properly. With no distractions. You might like it.

I'm with you Bimbo, hated Country music growing up and still hate most of it, especially the newer shite. However Johnny Cash and bands like The Highwaymen were excellent. Also a lot of country influenced rock bands like The Marshall Tucker Band, Creedence Clearwater, even The Stones, Keith Richards and George Harrison took a lot of Country influence
