Do you think player by player, we are better than Arsenal?

Goalkeeper:

Given vs Almunia

Defence:

Richards vs Sagna

Nedum vs Toure

Kompany vs Gallas

Bridge vs Clichy

Midfield:

De Jong vs Denilson

Barry vs Cesc

Ireland vs Arshavin

Attack:

Tevez vs Walcott

Adebayor vs Eduardo

Robinho vs van Persie

Is it close? Are we firmly ahead player by player if we sign Srna for RB, and Lescott and Bruno Alves in the middle? Yes, we know that a team has to settle in, but don't forget squad depth either. Do we have stronger squad depth than Arsenal? What do you think?

Ireland vs Arshavin - Arsenal 'Superman' needs another massive season to be classed in the next tier of class IMO.

Robinho vs van Persie - City

We loose 5 to 6! As metioned we are closing the gap fast, we own them in attack but we need to strengthen our defense asap.

Yeah, spot on for me as well. It's not a bad way of looking at it really because if we sign Terry (or another top CB) and Lescott, we'll then have the better team on paper.

Assuming no one gets injured of course! (touch wood).

I don't think we're far away from Arsenal as a team/squad, where we do come 2nd (oooer matron) is our lack of experience from a coaching side of things as regards finishing in the top 4.
This is NOT a go at Hughes at all but Wenger has huge experience in these things & at this moment in time Hughes doesn't, as a coach anyway.

Wenger has had 12 years there, Hughes has had 12 months....

I'll be dissapointed if we are hanging around 9th or 10th when the table starts shaping up.

Go through the fixture list & be realistic how many points we'll pick up.

I get us between 67-70 (I cant make my mind up if we can win at West Ham!)
