Do you think the world will be much different in 70 years from now?

Also if they’ve got any sense refined sugars will be banned from being sold to children. Everyone will have a good diet and will be regular exercisers and they will look back at the end of rationing in the 1950s to 2030 as a period of idiots who knew nothing about diet and exercise and were ruining their bodies and lives through their diet and sedentary lifestyles.

I have seen it said that country never ate better than in wartime - rationing cut sugar and fat consumption and upped veg consumption. Of course fags, TB and the Luftwaffe all took their toll instead.

It’s why the current older generation are living so long. For a good amount of time they only ate what they needed to. Never too much of anything, hardly any refined sugars, good balance of root veg and protein and they all drank water (there are people around now who never turn the tap on and fill a glass with water to have a drink).

We need people to die younger.

More sugar and more bacon cooked in lard, with dripping butties to fill you up.

My Dads generation - born during the war - were brought up on Yank films just waiting for rationing to end so they could buy steaks and have 6 sugars in their coffee down the coffee shop coz that was the good life being fed to them on the screen. My Dad always goes on about rationing and says he never saw a banana until the 70's ( not the usual 50's -think about it - he was never looking and hates them to this day lol ) has high BP, type2 and has survived colon cancer - then again he is 80 so his diet of processed crap hasn't got him yet though it has got a lot of his contemporaries.

Yep. Grew up in a time when you couldn't eat between meals as you didn't have tons of shite in the cupboard. When it was gone, it was certainly gone. Mum done one shop a week, no nipping out every day to the local superstore. We certainly didn't 'eat out' apart from chippy Friday if the old man had a good week.

Thats a great idea - and zero EU immigrants so we can call in a new Windrush generation from the Commonwealth.............imagine Yaxley-Lennons face when he realises his faux new found pro-brexit stance brings in more people from Pakistan ! His next campaign will be for healthy eating to keep all us indigenous English folk alive.....

That is weird isn't it? Crisps and chocolate were a treat now its a fucking human right for kids. Our "pudding" was an apple or some other fruit.

Change is forever accelerating. I would say that the world will be quite different.

Britain will still be extending the talks and negotiations for Brexit, though, while the HoC will have had the 1000th vote on a way out without agreeing on anything.

Well I would say everyone on this forum will be pushing up daisies FACT

Firstly, Trump will be dead, so that’s a good start!

Hopefully, by 2089, people will have realized the pursuit of money, and wealth, is a waste of time and human effort, and health and wellness will be the new status symbol. Organically grown food will be the norm, as we learn that the bacteria in our gut drives our entire physical and mental lives, and we feed that rather than stuffing our faces with processed foods to make our bellies feel full and fool our brains into thinking we are satiated.

The widespread destruction of the earth for resources designed to aid in the production of “things” to provide profits to private corporations, who then use those profits to buy politicians, who in turn then enact policies designed to aid those corporations will have been outlawed, and seen as the lowest point of human political evolution.

Policies enacted by countries will have to meet the “advancing human growth and development” litmus test that most policies enacted today fail miserably.

Of course, this new period of human enlightenment may still be in its infancy, or possibly even delayed, due to the extended nuclear winter created by a second tier bad actor flexing its muscles on the world stage with devastating results, and the rural populations that survived still getting back on their feet.

Plague and pestilence will run wild, cannibalism will be rife and the rise of the zombie will be the beginning of the end.
THE END IS NIGH!
