Dodging train fares

If the railways were publicly owned once again they might be cheap enough for ordinary people to actually get on; you know, like they do abroad. Instead of that we have a mess of private sector firms still taking subsidies from the taxpayer, charging all kinds of eye-watering train fares and effectively dissuading people from using the trains. And for this whole incredible privatised fiasco we can thank our old friends, the Tories (something you may want to reflect on come polling day).

utter bollocks.
I regularly go to London.Never pay more than £22 return.
Complete bargain!
Fare dodgers are as bad as benefit cheats.

What? Trains are full to the brim most days, we need more infrastructure to run more trains before worrying about more passengers.

easy at Victoria provided your train isnt in on platforms 1 or 2 just keep walking up the stairs as if you're going MaccyDs or the MEN ticket office and walk down stairs on t'other side and wave at the ticket inspectors as you bypass th, simples

its mint when they dont check tickets. fantastic. many times i have travelled to liverpool and not been checked. it saves me 9 quid.

fucking conductors. got stopped for a £2.80 fare at about half 11 from Stockport last train that i'd legged it for and my card didn't work in the machine, the guy was a right twat about it and made me fill a form out, I had money in the account and the nob was blaming it on me. Got away with enough free journeys in the past though ;)

I've had that before. The handheld card machines are fucking shit, but apparently that's all down to the customer.
