Does anyone else think Aguero...

I know most have taken this as me saying "lets play him on the wing" but im not.

What im saying is, i think he would work well playing as part of a fluid front 3, a la barca system. Or even real madrids system when they play CR, KB and GB.

Aguero often comes deep (more often recently with lack of service) and even goes out to the wing area to receive the ball but then there is no one through the middle for him to pass to.

Just think if he was playing up there with a Morata/Lewa type, he would be great. Plus we would have that focal point of the strike force to play off / swing crosses into if need be.

Someone previously mentioned David Villa and this is a perfect example and what Pep could do with him.

Just a thought (one i have mentioned 2 or 3 tomes over the years). Good to have other opinions on it.

I get what you mean now

I've noticed Aguero coming deep and going wide a lot in recent weeks. I think he's doing that because he's starved of the ball or as a a sole striker he's marked by two central defenders.

I thought the signing of Sterling would see a lot of interchange, but so far it's not worked that way. Sterling has stayed out on the left and Aguero has had the penalty area plus all other areas. he was a bit unlucky in the Derby. On another day he would have had a hat-trick and a lot of the bad vibes on here would have been blown away. We are too reliant on him at the moment. We're not creating clear-cut chances. he has to do everything. I'm sure it will be all change on Pep. good job he's coming in because I don't think Aguero would hang around much longer if change wasn't coming.

No it isn't a bad shout but it can't happen due to the simple reason he is already such a good forward, to be honest we just need 2 top quality strikers who can link up with Aguero like we used to have and that will be it, job done.

De Bruyne or Silva?

Silva has often played as a forward for Spain. He's not a good enough finisher though is he. Navas certainly isn't good enough. I think Sterling could do it. I know he missed chances at Wembley but he's still very young and we play him as an out and out winger which he is not. De Bruyne gets goals.

This has annoyed me as this discussion makes me realise just how good our forward line is and how little we have taken from the potential in the squad.

We keep trying to protect thw weaknesses of certain players when we could be going on the offensive, and Pellegrini thinks he is an attacking manager. Not this season.

David Villa was one of the world's deadliest strikers and Pep moved him onto the left. I seem to recall that worked out okay.

It didn't work that well for David Villa really. He got a fair amount of criticism at Barca because his goal tally dropped. A lot of people simply thought his performance level dropped without considering he was playing in the wing. But that team has Messi so one has to play to your best player's strength at that time. So unless we have another world class striker or a player like Messi, I think Kun would be happier and play better at the centre rather than the wing, if the last few games and the ones he played for Argentina are any indications.

Pep did the same with Henry too..,.. I would imagine Ageurro will do whatever Pep demands of the team setup. In fact I been watching Bayern and the way they play up front is very pressing and defence seems to start from the front. Bony will have no chance, he looks like he is waiting for a bus half the time
