Does anyone else think Aguero...

The thing is Pep will no play with 2 strikers, or if he does it will be a rare occasion. Pep will definitely buy a top class striker and offload Bony - we will then have Sergio, Top class striker and Kelechi to choose from. I also believe Kelechi could play the wing forward role too.

The thing that Pellegrini has failed to understand this season (and I am a fan of pelle, but patience wearing thin) is that he thinks the more strikers you have on the pitch, the more goals you score, so he completely abandons any formation / shape and just throws strikers at it.

Its abit like when Mancini used to bring a striker off, put on CM on and put Yaya further forward, commentators always used to say that he is going defensive, NO, that's completely wrong and naïve, he is trying to win the ball in the middle and let Yaya support the striker - this move often won us the game.

I digress............

De Bruyne or Silva?

Silva has often played as a forward for Spain. He's not a good enough finisher though is he. Navas certainly isn't good enough. I think Sterling could do it. I know he missed chances at Wembley but he's still very young and we play him as an out and out winger which he is not. De Bruyne gets goals.

This has annoyed me as this discussion makes me realise just how good our forward line is and how little we have taken from the potential in the squad.

We keep trying to protect thw weaknesses of certain players when we could be going on the offensive, and Pellegrini thinks he is an attacking manager. Not this season.

Yeah Spain are the kind of team that can play with a false 9 but Silva isn't the best finisher, in the last few seasons he has added a few more goals than he did under Mancini but he will still more often than not naturally look for the pass instead of the shot, even when he's in a shooting position, I don't remember him scoring much this year though even though he's had injuries, De Bruyne I've been impressed with like I think everyone has he has great technique and can shoot from range and in the box, plus we did put him up on his own in a few games earlier in the campaign and he didn't do too badly, I remember when he scored a last minute goal I think it was against Gladbach which was really important, Yeah Navas has had a really long drought in the bpl without scoring which is horrendous, what makes it worse is he seems to hesitate on the ball he is really predictable, I think in a team like ours wingers should at least score 5-10 goals per season, then Sterling who has shown signs, will be good to see how he flourishes under Guardiola as he can definitely still improve, I think we could do with a new right winger, the kind who cuts in on his left foot, especially as we seem to play Sterling who's right footed on the left it would make more sense. Maybe even one quality striker might do the trick as Ineachacho has brilliant potential, and if you play 4-2-3-1 like City seem to do most games that's normally a good amount.

As much as the team is far from perfect this year I still think Sergio is ideal playing where he is at. He's too clinical in the box to have him on the wing and if the actual wingers did their job then he'd be scoring 30 goals plus a season.

Pep does kind of use 2 strikers though.

Müller is...hard to pin down but he's like a 9.5. He nominally plays behind Lewandowski but that's not really how it works out. You don't get 28 goals in 38 games playing as a number 10 - and in Germany they are asking if they will be the best/most prolific striker partnership ever.

So he does sort of play with 1 1/2 strikers. I think Kelechi could be that player in a few years time though - we've heard he can play behind the striker, haven't got a chance to really see it in the first team yet, but I'm sure we will.

De Bruyne is the other one who could possibly be that player who is half striker half 10 - he sure as hell finishes like a striker and gets enough goals.

...Could be moved out to a wing forward position (ideally left so he can cut in, a la Neymar) ?

Now, hear me out on this one....

Ive been saying this for a while, Aguero is more than capable of playing in the Messi / Neymar position and still score 20+ goals and i am sure that he would thrive next to a Morata or Lewandowski.

Just think:

Aguero Morata Sterling

With Pogba, gundogan and De bruyne behind them, would be immense.
Yes I do. He will have to play in multiple positions under Pep. Centre and left I think.
