Does anyone else think....

I'm not saying we weren't good enough or we didn't try or anything, in saying that it was worth a try to continue attacking when they were most vulnerable

To be fair, I don't care if the rags steal the spotlight. It keeps the expectations low for our players and keeps them motivated. Wouldn't be surprised if City put up 10 this year.

We've come a long way from York away when people are seriously moaning that we only scored five at WHL.

As you asked, I think I can just about come to terms with it.

Your not understanding me. I'm not moaning, in just saying we could've got more if we wanted. And there was no reason not to, only would have done us good

Its not that we should have gone for more per se, Im over the moon with the way we pissed all over Spurs today, its that I noticed a distinct 'foot off the gas' from just after the hour mark until about the 80th minute.

At around 80mins we got hold of it again and passed it around the midfield and defence and eventually Dzeko scored his fourth.

Did we think 'job done' as we were 3 goals up after 60 minutes? or we lost a bit of concentration for 20 minutes.....

That phrase "foot off the gas" is exactly what I was thinking! If they had such good momentum when it was 0-0 or 2-0 why didn't they keep the same momentum up when their heads were down and they had 10 men

As the great man said: "we always must improve"

Don't get me wrong I was loving today's performance, it seemed to good to be true at times.... but after our 4th I was a little frustrated. It was around 70 mins, spuds had 10 men. They were playing shit, we were awesome. There was no way of them coming back the way we were playing. They were up for the taking and their heads were down and they weren't bothered anymore(as shown through the defending of the 5th city goal).

With the 10 men on a plate we stopped attacking and scoring, we instead gave the ball to the defenders to practice passing. We could have got 7 or 8. We should have.
People will say it doesn't matter because we won anyway but it does. 2 or 3 goal could be the difference between 2nd and 1st. That's why man u didn't show any mercy and tore arsenal apart. They know how important it is and when they saw arsenal on their knees they took the opportunity and overshadowed our win to get 1st.

For those that cba reading the thread and just choose to highlight bad bits, overall it says:
We were fantastic but I'm just saying we could've got more goals if we wanted to, and nothing but good would have come out of it.

I know its early days but it all counts.

What makes me sound drunk? Bit of. Stupid accusation as I have a valid opinion that I don't see anything wrong with. Is there much harm in adding an extra few goals to our GD. Its nothing but good

Stop freaking out. Manchester United played against a third-rate Arsenal team with no spine, passion, confidence, or pride.

City has a deeper squad than United.

City have superior players in all positions than United.

Calm the fuck down. If United wins 5-1 against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, then I'd be worried. But they didn't, did they?

When United plays against REAL opponents in Europe, you will see how much they will suffer. If they face the likes of Barcelona or Real, they will be utterly humiliated. I don't even see how they can cope with you guys.

Midfield wins football games these days, and United's midfield = SHIT. Nasri, Yaya, and Silva will run rings around those cunts.

Another thing - do you know one of the positives about possession football? Or more specifically, Barcelona's philosophy - the more possession you have, the more you allow your own players to REST while owning the ball. It really is that simple. You have a long ass season left to go. Don't drown your own players in their sweat at the beginning of the season.

You do know we have only played 3 games right? there are plenty more games to score more goals in..don't worry.

On the one hand, putting 5 past Spurs at WHL, for the first time in our history, was pretty amazing.

But on the other hand I can see what people are saying about taking your foot off the gas. We've lost points too many times where we've switched off thinking the job is done or put ourselves under pressure by letting the opposition back into it. It'a all about mentality and ours hasn't really suggested we can win games late on, like the rags do so often.

It was the same at Bolton where the scoreline was a lot closer. If we'd been 3-2 down, would we have upped a few gears and chased the game? Both games, we've let the other team back in by mentally relaxing. Yesterday it didn't matter but there will be games where it does.

For me, that's the one thing still missing and I understand why Mancini still feels there is work to do.

I know but we could have squeezed
more out of them, if it gets to the end of the season and we're 2 goals behind man u on equal points we could regret times like this, just saying there's no harm in getting more

Mancini should be fired if he cannot manage his team to score more than 5 goals/game from now on. ;)

Actually city were not playing possession football. The possession of the second half was roughly 50:50. I guess our players or mancini didn't want to prove we were the better side by running over 10men. And I do love this.

Of course you were not. But defensively passing the ball around lets your players rest nontheless.

It's better than playing fucking 11-man defense, Italian catennaccio.

jesus fucked up christ , there are some fucking Nimrods in this world.

Would you be saying that if the rags only won 1-0?

No I dont think you would. 5-1 at WHL is fucking quality and the football we played was quality aswell.
