If you were born in 1923 you wouldn’t remember Hyde Road I guess unless your Mum or Dad took you to a match when you were a babe in arms. Or your Mum might have been expecting you. :-)

Yes, I appreciate you'd have to be very old. But the number of people over 100 has doubled in the last 20 years and quadrupled in the last 40. So I reckon they'll still be a handful knocking about.

The other thing is about 80% of over 100s are women. I've no idea what % of a typical crowd at Hyde Road were likely to have been women, but I'm assuming it was pretty low.

When we had the Maine Rd auction I was in for one of the Hyde Road turnstiles, made the mistake of phoning my missus and she lost it a bit and I bottled it. Should have just sought forgiveness rather than permission; I'd probably still be waiting though:-)
