Yep, even though I was born close to where the Etihad now stands, I'll always miss Maine Road .....

I miss Maine Road, it was my second home, but as a stadium doesn't come close to the Etihad for our current position and ambitions.
What i would change is the pubs around the ground, we had some belters at Maine Road currently it's shite.

Yes because despite now being nearer to the city centre the Etihad is 10X harder to get to and from on public transport or by driving. Maine road was a breeze to get to and from

Lived 10 minutes walk from Maine Road as a youngster/teenager in the 60s and 70s

Loved the ground and the atmosphere and the fans(no tourists to be seen)

Wonderful,mad,exciting and dangerous time in my life following the team I love.

It would probably have cost less to build a shiny new stadium than redevelop the Etihad

The surrounding land appealed. But the stadium itself they loved the inside but hated the outside which is why, for a period of time, a new stadium was under consideration

I remember when I was about ten going to City on the 53.

The bus pulled up near Belle Vue Dog track, a few people jumped up on the platform at the back, and the bus was jam packed,

As it was about to drive off a woman tried to get on, but the conductor said "Sorry we are full"

She opened her coat revealing a low cut dress and a big cleavage

He said "Never mind that luv'. I've got to get these lads to the match"
