Does Pellegrini Really Rate Sterling ?

I'd rather have what Sterling offers than Navas running down the line, stopping and passing it backwards for the 50th time that match or putting in a cross that hits the first man. Sterling has actually won us games Navas is just there to make a nuisance of himself.[/QOUTE]

I'd rather have Isco and Neymar next season!

Fairly confident that he rates him. My first thought when I saw Kelechi in there and Sterling on the bench was that (along with Pelegrini instructing Kelechi to take the penalty instead of Sterling on Saturday) it might be down to attitude or trying to make some point to Sterling that he has to work harder or that Pelle wants more from him. It's Leicester on saturday though so maybe he was just shuffling the pack. Happy to put it down to squad rotation for now.

I'd have had Sterling on earlier btw

Stealing and navas on each wing with aguero up top is the best attacking option. Especially with silva playing in the middle. Not sure why Pelle never gives this a consistent try.

He did at the start of the season and we won every game.

Raheem only just turned 21. He's managing his game time. It's a long career ahead of Raheem and hopefully many of those years are at City. He's a light player so it makes sense to rotate him often. As far as Navas is concerned, Pellers clearly has a strong affinity for him and appreciates his general durability and willingness to run until the final whistle. He rates him very highly clearly.

Pelle loves Navas. I would not be surprised if Pellers goes to a EPL or european club then Navas will not be far behind him.
Sterling is a longer term asset.

Pellers does rate Sterling, no doubt.
He's just being wrapped in cotton wool right now with the understanding that Sterling doesn't need to be beasted like at Klanfield.
We aren't overly dependant on him so we can prolong his career.
We'll see what he's made of when Pep steps in, presuming he'll have no injuries and be fully charged after the constant beasting he had at Klanfield.

Exactly. Now that KDB is out he should revert back to this but doesn't seem to fancy it.
Oe perhahs he thinks longer term than you do. Look, he won the game and still have a fresh Sterling for 90 minutes against Leicester.

I think Raheem has been managed very well so far this season. Pellegrini has been very careful, ensuring that he doesn't get burnt out. There are lots of areas Sterling needs to improve at, but I think he'll develop hugely under Pep.

Sterling is 20 years old , and will probably cause the least drama , if left out of the side , its also a learning process , he has stepped up from a team of underachieving mourners to a class champions league football squad , due to his age , he will have good and bad games , but in a couple of years time with Pep's guidance we could have an exceptional player on our hands.

He's started 18 or our 24 league games, 5 of 6 CL games, both FA Cup games, 10 goals, 7 assists. I'd say that points towards the manager rating him.

Liverpool were slated last year for over playing him and causing burn out. I'd say he is being well managed and hopefully is now fresh for Saturday.

Hes 21,
I will put it out there that Sterling will be one of the first names on the team sheet on saturday which in a sense could be the biggest game of the season thus far

He was outstanding in the 0-0 draw away to these and will be crucial coming inside running at the likes of Huth & Morgan..
