Does the Etihad Stadium feel like "home" now?

A Great topic.

As a 38 year old I never envisaged the Etihad having the same pull as Maine Road did. For me it is not a choice as I will remember good times from them both. This year the Etihad became the venue of my best EVER moment as a city fan. I can comfortably call it home as when I'm older I'll hopefully be telling my grandkids about that day in May (and more) rather the highlight being the Charlton game or the 5-1, although they'll get the full story on them too!

I'm sure for the generation above me that witnessed title and cup winning sides at MR, it may be different.

The Etihad is now the venue if the greatest ever title winning game, AND our home.

Bang on!

Let's enjoy the memories of Maine Road, however we are now in a different place and it's what what our children and grandchildren and new blue supporters will grow up with.
Lets make the Etihad a place like the one we hold dear if not better, the owners are certainly trying!

I think most older fans will always see Maine rd as home. I'm not saying they're stuck in their ways or don't like change, but the sights and smells and memories from childhood are always the most vivid.

Have to agree ......

I was born in the 1950's Bradford terraced streets and alleyways that once surrounded the land where the Etihad now stands , and i know the 'soul' that the place used to have .... the area is still looking to regain that sense of 'belonging' again , after so long , but the football ground and the redevelopments are helping.

But as a kid a trip to Maine Road was magical to me , and it's gonna be long time before that feeling leaves me ......

if ever.

I'm 32 and have been watching City for 30 years .
For me I love The Eitihad I think it's a brilliant ground and I get a better feeling going to watch City here than I ever did at Maine Rd this may have something to do with the football we are playing .
There has always been a discussion about the atmosphere etc etc but the noise made at certain games this year Rags , Chelsea, Arsenal , QPR was just as loud and hostile as Maine Rd .
Away teams not fans used to love coming to Maine Rd now away teams hate coming to our sacred Eitihad Stadium .

Viva Eitihad !

Seeing the excitement in my boys eyes as we approach the stadium has played a big part in me feeling more and more at home. Sharing these magic memories of the last 2 seasons with my sons it's the only home they know and slowly despite my first season ticket being a £55 Junior on the old Kippax I have come to feel very comfortable I enjoy going I love singing my heart out and cheering on the team...and being selfish I want more and more magic memories for me and my boys to share at the Etihad.
