Donald Trump

You don't understand republican logic. Here's how it goes:

  • Two members of Dumb Donald's campaign have been indicted by a federal grand jury and another has already been convicted. This clearly proves that there has been no wrongdoing whatsoever by Dumb Donald or anybody who worked for him.
  • If you say the words "Hillary Clinton" and "Emails" it's proof that everything wrong in the world was caused by her.

Trump and his team desperately tweeting and pleading " look over there - look at her" hoping to distract people as things march nearer and nearer the WH - pitiful and shameful

Well the popular vote obviously doesn't mean much, at least it may dispel the illusion that america is the greatest democracy on god's green earth.
And all that crap that is supposedly connected to Clinton is of little importance, she lost and isn't occupying a position of power nor is she likely to run again. Still, she's been investigated by congress and the FBI for years and nothing has stuck.
As for her side, I think they'll look the lesser of two evils but that still won't guarantee an eventual win.

The GOP control both houses in Congress, the Dept of Justice and the White House. You think if there was anything to prosecute HRC on they wouldn't have done it by now? The reason HRC isn't being prosecuted is that there is nothing to prosecute her on. At some point the right in America is going to have come to terms with that. Still baffles me how the dumb fuckers haven't worked it out yet.

Maybe. but a lot might depend on if her side (and others like the media) are willing or self aware enough to learn by their mistakes.

Seems absolute madness to me that one side spends all its time calling anyone on the opposition bigots, racists, white supremacists etc and when they lose carry on calling those people the same things and then further try and deny them any platform, whilst promoting/ making excuses for groups like Antifa/ BLM etc

They get called bigots, racists and Nazi's because they are. It ain't rocket science. A **** is a ****.

I'm sure they will have learned.
Also, they didn't spend all their time doing that and the republican media did their utmost to frame her remarks in the way you describe. Her full quote actually reads
You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? They’re racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic — Islamophobic — you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully, they are not America.

But the "other" basket — the other basket — and I know because I look at this crowd I see friends from all over America here: I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas and — as well as, you know, New York and California — but that "other" basket of people are people who feel the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures; and they’re just desperate for change. It doesn’t really even matter where it comes from. They don’t buy everything he says, but — he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won’t wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they’re in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.
I guess that wasn't controversial enough to sell and I'm sure those white supremacists and RWNJ's are really just fine people ;)

Meh pesky irrelevant details, nobody bothers with those these days. Soundbites is where it's at and max 140 characters so not to overload any attention spans.

Ah. Just like everyone who voted for Brexit was thick? that went well didn't it :)
Not thick per sé, just not properly informed. Has anyone seen this bus lately?

I pretty much agree with what's see was saying in the second paragraph, the only problem they didn't listen (before and even after the election) to that second group, or they got lumped in with the first lot.
They were happy to turn it into a 'us & them' situation (either you're with us or against us) which didn't do them any favours.
