He's never been put on the spot with a difficult policy question. He didn't even know that Russia had invaded Ukraine when they mentioned that.

But in his world or the world of his base it literally doesn't matter. The idea is that the USA is so strong that we can do whatever we want and it will be fine. Reality doesn't matter because it is what he says it is. He says there haven't been any airline crashes because of him so that must be why, he says he's accomplished more than any other POTUS so that's a fact now, job creation in 2017 was lower than during Obama's tenure but he says it's the best so people just go with that.

People literally believe him when he says that the tax bill is going to cost him money. They believe a guy who started a fake university that bilked people out of their savings is looking out for them. Even though he won't show his taxes (though he promised to do so) they still believe his taxes are going up and theirs are going down. When people actually see their taxes rise THEY STILL WON'T BELIEVE IT. If he tells them that paying $10,000/year in taxes saves you more money than paying $6,000 the morons will be writing $4,000 checks.
