Well worthwhile watching if you're participating in this thread:

I'm not quite sure what to make of McCabe's claims that Rosenstein offered to wear a wire and that Rosenstein discussed the possibility of removing Trump via the 25th amendment. McCabe seems to have lied to the FBI about a leak to the press he authorized with regard to the Hilary Clinton email investigation. And Rosenstein denies that he offered to wear a wire and that he discussed removing Trump under the 25th amendment (sort-of, his letter to 60-minutes is vague enough to leave wiggle room).

His remarks about lying to the FBI about the source of the Clinton email investigation leak - to me - seemed entirely unbelievable.
===
TL/DR - The McCabe interview with 60 minutes is well worth watching, although I question the veracity of McCabe.

Disclosure - I'm very close to being a "never Trumper."

I get the feeling that whatever happened initially with McCabe, he quickly realised that he'd taken the wrong path. I can only speculate, but my thoughts are that someone high up in the Trump campaign somehow managed to get Comey, McCabe and others onside prior to the election (maybe a bribe, promise of a high level job or they had some dirt on them or their family members).

There is an awful lot of skulduggery at play here.

@realDonaldTrump

"The Washington Post is a Fact Checker only for the Democrats. For the Republicans, and for your all time favorite President, it is a Fake Fact Checker!"

Fake Fact Checker?

Is that the same as Rudi's alternative facts, or "truth isn't truth"?

Or Trump's alternative Universe?

Thank God facts don't matter because I'd hate to think that CNN isn't biased against Dumb Donald

Facts actually do matter - a lot.

The Republicans have a legitimate claim that the media, in general, has been biased towards liberal views. This is unacceptable - just report the facts, without bias.
===
Recently, though, a new dynamic has emerged - the echo chamber. Whether you're liberal or conservative you'll tend to read/listen to news stories that reinforce your disposition. Over time, you'll come to believe/support whatever claim is made in advancement of your views.

Moreover, if you're simply seeking the truth and wish to judge accordingly - it's becoming harder and harder to do so.
===
Yes CNN leans left - and yes its coverage is biased accordingly. But facts, for me at least, are presented as such.

Trouble is - Fox opinion pieces (for example) are so far right leaning that facts no longer matter - the truth is immaterial. And the right/far right ignores the distinction between factual reporting and narrative intended to advance an agenda.

I suppose this same sort of phenomena occurs on the left - that is, extremist leftists are caught in their own echo chamber - to wit, some leftists no doubt think that, "The Green New Deal," is absolutely the way to govern - right now!

I'm now left-leaning in social policy (previously I was a staunch conservative because my parents were) so I'm probably less aware of left-biased news reporting - though I do try to be aware.
===
Unfortunately, the far right conflates science with radical left viewpoints - whereas true scientists are not concerned at all with politics but simply seek the truth.

This anti-science sentiment leads many/most? conservatives to reject climate change, to adapt the belief that vaccination is unnecessary and dangerous, and to be anti-science on virtually any topic (why spend money on science when so many people are dying from hunger/disease/etc?).
===
I'm an optimist - I think that over generations, facts will prevail against unsubstantiated beliefs. That almost everyone has access to the Internet via smart phones is a very big deal. People can access viewpoints of others who do not necessarily agree with them. Over time, I think that trust in science - that is actual fact - without regard to politics - will increase.
===
Typically though - if your parents believe something - you're almost certainly going to believe the exact same thing. It takes decades/generations to counteract this dynamic.

If one party lurches to the right, the two options are to either follow it or oppose it.

Following it means that the whole spectrum has travelled right, and the right win overall.
Opposing it tries to prevent the travel direction.
Whether opposing is done by holding firm or pushing the other way, is arguable, although holding firm will tend to an overall creep to the right as well.
