I am pretty amazed that they haven't gotten together with a real lawyer (not Rudi) and come up with a coordinated, well thought out excuse, instead of all seemingly just randomly throwing out excuses they've seen on TV programs in the hope one might stick. It's an absolute shambles of a defence

The conspiracy theory is that he has dirt on each and every one of them which is not beyond the realms of possibility.

It's not hard as some of them have official criminal records and probably unofficial ones too...

The trouble with a strategy when you are bang to rights is that it can be picked apart. So it’s probably best to have lots of ‘credible’ people throwing out excuses and conspiracy theories. Did you see the people at his rally with ‘read the transcript’ T-shirts on? I bet they hadn’t read it, in fact I bet they were paid to wear it

To my knowledge the transcript hasn’t been released, just a summary from the White House. That condemned him as did his own words on the WH lawn. But still we have to go through this charade

Yet another comparison to Watergate. Of course the reason it didn’t work is that the President was hiding from his defenders that he was in fact at the center of the Watergate cover-up — he ordered it. Not too far of a stretch to believe Trump is hiding lots of other things he’s said and done from his defenders, and would from a “real” attorney (as Nixon also did from his attorneys Buzhardt and St. Clair until the Smoking Gun tape was uncovered).

Given Lindsey Graham did a 180 degree handbrake turn on his opinion of Trump in 2016, it's highly likely he has dirt on him, and probably the others too.

'Gym' Jordan and DUI Goetz have shady backgrounds and it really isn't beyond Trump to leverage any dirt he has on them.

In all honesty, I think it's just good old fashioned bribery and corruption.

I've seen a tweet knocking about where it shows the same people sitting in the front row at different rallies, and also those very same people being interviewed for various R.Wing media outlets.

No doubt all the Latino's for Trump T-shirt models are also paid to wear those shirts.

Having lots of defenses works for public opinion as people will collate them in their minds to believe they form a combined weight of evidence. The fact they are non compatible and even contradictory will not register.

A lot have links to Russian money that is undoubted. Is it Trump they are loyal to or their Russian handlers?

I had to chuckle when reading this exert from the perma tanned one's latest book, would be funnier if it wasn't so true.

Mr Trump is described variously as “a twelve-year-old in an air traffic control tower” and an “elderly uncle running pantsless across the courtyard” of a nursing home while “cursing loudly about the cafeteria food, as worried attendants tried to catch him”.
