Unfortunately, Robert Muller took this memo as a restraint on his powers (possibly/probably by AG Barr and the Justice Department) when publishing his report into Russian interference into the 2016 elections. Without this memo, It is highly likely Muller would have call for the indictment of the POTUS.

I guess if it was the last opinion published, and SCOTUS hasn't made judgement, it would be held as valid. Mueller had no option to challenge it.

The investigations are the end in themselves. Classic whataboutism. The debates are won and lost on 5~10 sec talking points. Anything that takes longer than 10 seconds to explain is just noise. Valid points can be beaten by invalid points as long as they sound credible.
Worse than that. The 5 second soundbites are just reading out a headline, the story under which later gets spread out on the god awful info for the stupid platform that is Faceache.

It also seems to be a problem in that a crime after 6 months, and a successful re-election would see some kind of statute of limitations kick in and totally prevent legal action.

Yes, that's problematic cos there is no point where they become a citizen in order to indict.

It would be solely when the legal term has finished hence why #45 is (jokingly, he says) sounding out the possibility of 3 terms.

To my knowledge FDR won 3 or 4 terms (can't remember which!), dying in office and the term limit was changed after this.

Legally, I guess #45 could re-open this line of inquiry.

Don't forget the immense power of Fox News.

When I'm out in the States with work, a fair majority of the places I go, including bars, diners and businesses have Fox News on a loop, normally with the sound down and subtitles on. Many of the workers and customers object, but it's management policy in a lot of places.

If you read what we have now of Muller's report, it's very obvious that he expected Trump to be impeached almost immediately. And he probably would have been if the current version was what got released immediately.

He was far too naive and professional unfortunately, he clearly didn't realise the extent to which Barr would literally edit the meaning of his report and suppress it, and he was a boring witness as well.
Barr successfully derailed that report by completely misrepresenting everything in it by incorrectly stating that it 'completely exonerated the President', when in fact it was the polar opposite.

Has he tried to impose sanctions on Wakanda yet ?

Not yet, but apparently...

Yes, he outright lied to mislead the public and congress, and if we weren't living in bizzarro world, he'd have been impeached and stripped of his office.
