Interesting read. Clear argument about how everything Trump has done since being elected has played into China’s hands. They must be pissing themselves in Beijing at the ineptitude of the Trump administration.

Perhaps it's worth noting that America has not compensated China and the rest of the world for the financial contagion that escaped from America in 2008.

I liked this bit: Xi "is already positioning China to lead the future of artificial intelligence, automation, micro-processing, renewable energy, robotics, self-driving vehicles, you name it. And Trump made it easy for Xi. As China prepares for the global economy it will confront in 2025, Trump is making coal great again."

We are seeing the further diminishment of western, and especially US, hegemony play out in front of our eyes, in a way that this pandemic has accelerated; which will add fuel to the fire of the conspiracy theories, of course.

Most of the West still believes that ‘Asia’ is still generally a ‘2nd world’ place.
Whereas they are generally now a ‘1st world’, and with a considerably larger population and better educated.
Economic power is (and has been accelerating for 20 years) retreating from the US/Europe to Asia.

I’d pretty much agree with that timeline. Empires rise and empires fall.

Just ask any rag!

He really thinks he’s Stalin. He sacks anybody, anyone at all, that tells the truth about the administration’s shortcomings or failures or perceived failures.

Having everyone on tenterhooks and constantly in a state of stress about their job security, with the shadow of being axed at any moment, really has been a consistent feature of dictatorships over the years, hasn't it?
